My Fass broke while under warranty, Diesel injection of Pittsburgh tested and found damaged spring and ball. They also found old style harness and replaced according to Diesel perfomance guide lines. Even though I faxed FASS the orginal invoice and the repair invoice they would not honor the warranty because they could not find the registration card. I would stay away from this product and their lousy customer service.

That is what I am saying. They turned down my claim because they could not find the registration card, even though I faxed them the orginal installation receipt and the repair receipt. I would stay away.

HI guys, I'm a Fass Dealler and have been installing the fass pumps and inj. pumps for a couple years now. This is what i have come up with. For the hard starts all the time, ..... it usually meens that the VP is a little worn and won't take the higher pressure. Not all FASS pumps are set the same pressure. To fix this you need to pull the line that goes to the return back to the tank. Then under the fitting there is a spring and a ball. Just pull the spring out and cut a half coil at a time, until the truck starts perfect every time.

As for the hard starting only when its hot, the extra pressure is not helping and your VP is getting worse and should be changed. Lower your pressure to get by, but the VP 44 needs to come off soon before you are stranded.

As for the truck that would lose pressure from time to time and not pick up, here are the two problems i have run into. One time the filter was a Cimtek and did not fit right and i put a DDP filter on it and it worked fine. This happened recently, I hope no more units come with that filter. The other problem was the little block on top of the pump that controls the air/fuel bypass back to the return had a weak spring and it would not hold pressure or reprime itself all the time.

All in all, these pumps are pretty good and beat many of the alternatives. I think that if you can't find a dealer that knows anything, that in the worse case problem if you call DPP, then talk to Rebeka. She knows the pumps backwards and forwards and is very nice and patient.

I hope this helps. If anybody has any questions feal free to send a PM or call, or e-mail at -- email address removed --

I have no complaints. I bought my Fass when they first came out direct from the manufacture before dealers started and have had absolutly no problems with it.

Now with that said, I would like to buy a set of replacement brushes for it to have on hand for the future, it is a 150 GPH model.

How much and who do I contact. :)

Thanks.

I have bought a Fass for my truck recently. I have not installed it yet because of time issues and because I had to put another stock pump on while waiting for the Fass to be delivered (was on back order}. Now, after reading this post  , I don't know if I should install it or try to send it back for a refund????????????? My truck has 214000 on it and I am on my 5th or 6th stock lift pump. One I replaced after it would not prime after I changed a Fuel Filter, so I know that my vp44 has been subjected to low lift pressures. I have had a fp gauge on it but not until about the 2nd replaced stock lift pump. Now the question I am asking myself should I install or should I not????????? HHHHHHMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Kudos to Brad at DPP for hiring Dan (above) and for instituting some degree of direct customer service.

I agree with others that mention the gap between the dealers lack of knowledge and the inability to get a response from the factory. DPP's amazing growth in the two years since I bgt my FASS has produced obvious growing pains. I got interested in a FASS on this web page, but would not have spent that much money were it not for a 10 min conversation with Brad in early 04. My dealer just could not answer my Dodge related questions very well. Brad, obviously, no longer has that kind of time.

I have gotten quick responses and accurate, helpful, info from Dan since he has joined DPP. He knows our trucks... and the FASS!

I think BRAD is fixing what was broken... having to deal with dealers for major trouble shooting.

To me, it is silly NOT to buy the strongest fuel system upgrade on the market... just because their phenomenal growth makes it harder to get some personal service from the factory ???

I admit that I am bitter, because the Fass pump broke under warranty. Then after I faxed the original installation invoice and the repair invoice Fass would not honor the warranty because they could not find the registration card. I think it is silly to buy off of a company that provides that kind of customer service.
