If you don't want to completely drop the tank, you can loosen the nut on the forward most strap bolt until it is almost off, but not quite, then take the rear one all the way off and support the rear end of the tank with a jack. That will let the tank pivot down enough that you can get to the lines very easily. BUT if you are doing the draw straw, you must drop the tank because if you just pivot it down, you don't have enough room to raise the fuel tank module up and out of the tank w/o hitting the underside of the bed. Yes, I tried it, and that's how I know and how come I ended up having to drop the tank.
Here in the Northeast, corrosion of the 90-degree elbows that exit the fuel module is quite a problem and I wasn't able to get the OEM fuel line off w/o cracking the elbow. . which ended up being a good thing in my case because it was damned near ready to rot through and I would have had to replace it at some point eventually. And with the Vulcan draw straw, the factory elbows get eliminated anyhow
