Another thing to ponder is why doesn't the instructions that come with the FASS tell you to remove all the factory stuff?

The shop only did what DPP told them to!!

Instructions??? Instructions??? What good mechanic really needs instructions? By installing this unit as they did, they set the stage for failure, if not 3x the filter changes that is really needed. Common sense, not instructions is what is at fault here...

Joe G definetly has a point, I bet that original lift pump was working fine before it was even changed initially. Either the overflow valve or an air leak was to blame.

Sigh. . when will shops quit bendin people over? This is why I will NOT take my truck anywhere (but MY garage), even if it means my truck is down for a week or more.

If you have a 12 valve with a P7100 pump and the so called professional mechanic says something like you have zero fuel pressure so you need a new lift pump. Don't say anything. Just head for the nearest door out of the place. The "professional" mechanic does NOT know anything about the fuel system on this kind of engine.

That is an intersting bit of information. The booklet that came from DPP said that it was either a FASS -150/95-DO-94-98 or a FASS-150-DO-94-98. The shop that installed said it was a 95 GPH. It has a fuel filter and a fuel/water seperator on it & the serial # is 6426. My truck is a 1996 2nt gen with a P7100 injection pump and a #2 BullyDog plate. What FASS pump do I have and what are my options?

That part number is translated to FASS 150/150-1009. It shipped from us on 1-11-06. It has the new motor... but shows to be a 150 GPH. Thing is, max pressure you can get out of that kit is about 25 PSI. This kit is designed to work with your stock lift pump. AND at the time the kit was made... this was the only option we had. The new 1010 @ 45 PSI kit didnt come out until April. You should be fine with this kit.

Now I have a constant slow fuel leak from the fuel/water separator valve on the factory F/W separator. I replaced it and the new one leaks too. I guess it can’t handle the 25 PSI 150 GPH the FASS is throwing at the mechanical pump. How can I stop the leak?? Is there a plug that replaces the valve or is there a stronger valve??

By the way Dan, it wasn't a FASS issue on my pump. It was the hay bag job my installer did. It is fixed and we will give it another go. Thanks for the help!!
