C-hawk and RonA, what happened when you called DPP about your FASS problems? I'd be curious to know how well they handle customer service.

My FASS has been in and working beautifully so far (only since late last summer).

I'm very surprised that some people here consider the fact that the Airdog is smaller and less beefy is a selling point! I specifically got the FASS because it was big and beefy.

Maybe I missed it but I didn't see anyone mention that as a selling point. If your thinking beefier because your filters are longer and hang down below the rail to be possibly torn off then yes, the FASS is beefier, other than that they are about the same. Lets not forget both come from the same family basically the same design, you can order a huge version of the airdog which is 135A, however the airdog is smaller filters so it doesn't hang low but the motor is the same as the 135A. Bigger isnt always better :-laf :-laf

I called and talked to DPP right after I got my FASS. They were really good to deal with. I had a noisey unit. They told me a few things to try. I did not call when it failed. I have had it 18 or 19 months, so there wouldn't be a warranty. It wouldn't matter if there was . I have an aftermarket cam in my truck with a lobe for a mechancal pump. That will cure the lift pump issues for me. I think they would be ok for a vp truck. I don't think the 20 to 24 psi range for the p7100 was to it's liking. Probably last a long time at 12 to 15.

My failures were quite some time ago. They treated me very well at that time.

Later i was having more trouble and called them for help and they told me that i had to go to the place i purchased for help. That they weren't dealing directly with the public. I don't remember the ladies name who told me this. I called Doug at ADT and he took care of me.

It is my belief that DPP isn't going to be much help to individuals anymore so hope you bought it from vendor that makes a point to take care of their customers.

My opinion only.

I believe the way the return line was set up it would force fuel back up through the fill port and spray you as you filled up. However I'm reasonably sure this problem was corrected or at least has a correction.

If you buy a new truck... and install an Air Dog or Fass or anything else which pumps fuel and was not originally installed on the fuel system of the truck, I'd bet the farm that if any problems associated with fuel delivery or the general running condition of the engine occurs, the warranty will be void.

It only makes sense. If I made a truck I would only guarantee what I built... good or bad.

My advice to anyone upgrading to the after market system, if you are going all out... ... take the extra time and install a larger suction line in the tank. I think 90% of the problems with the stock junk (lp's) is right in the sub par fuel modules. I installed a 1/2" pipe in my tank a few months ago..... you would not believe the difference in the sound of the fass. You can barely hear it run now, before you could hear it purging trying to suck enough fuel to keep it pumping properly. Well that is my $. 02... ... . think about it seriously. I really like my fass now..... had it almost a year. I just came home from a 25mi. drive at -5*F... ... ... fass just purring like a kitten... . thats with no heat to it either.

I am new, How do you replace the fuel line from the tank?

i've had my FASS (pusher only) since May of last year... . no problems at all..... i have the 95gph model... ... ... ... . good luck... ... tom

The AirDog is triggered by the ECM. The run time is completely controlled by the factory setting. It also differs for different years.

By from the tank, do you mean in the tank or from the fitting on the tank?

Vulcan offers a larger suction tube that goes in the tank... I believe they also offer a larger line from the tank to the filter if you buy their lift pump relocation kit.

The FASS comes with 3/8" or 1/2" line from the tank to the injection pump if you get the FASS... not sure what the FASS 2 comes with...

I believe the Glacier kits offer upgraded lines as well...
