I had toy'd with the idea of heating the fuel for better mileage. When I researched out the idea and contacted Bosh about the VP, they came back with a warning about not heating the fuel for everyday driving. They say that heating the fuel will create problems with the VP-44 as it is designed to be cooled by the fuel.
I would think that in extremely cold weather it would not be a problem. I have been in -20 for a solid week at a time and never had any problem. During that time I ran a 32 oz bottle of Power Service to help keep the fuel from gelling.
If the VP would stand up to the heating of the fuel, I would love to heat the fuel as you can get a 30% increase in economy.
