Fass Pump Way To Loud

I have the FASS 150 and people can hear it two blocks away! I know that it can be sent in, but how long does it take to get it back? I can't be without my truck for a week. I have seen several guys on here running the aeromotive 1000. How loud are they and what are you using for filters? Thanks for any info.

i am very pleased with the upgrade on my pump, the think that takes long is the shipping so if you are willing to pay extra to expedite the shipping it would be alot quicker mine took 9 business days standard shippin from utah to missouri and back

I had seen that thread and Diesel Dan seems willing to help. Nine days without my truck would not be good, but with overnight shipping it might not be that bad.

Hotram - Yes, I installed the 1/2" pickup along with 1/2" line to the pump.

You could always put a Glacier kit on. You flat out can't hear the Walbro pump under any circumstances. The only sound you'll hear is the return fuel whooshing back into your fuel tank.

before i could hear it over the truck inside the cab with the windows up and the doors closed, after i got it back and put it on i started the truck and i climbed under the truck to look at the pump and check for leaks and couldn't hear it. after a few hundred miles i could hear it if i was outside the truck but then a few hundred more and its quiet again and been that way for a thousand miles it sounds like a stock lift pump now. only time i can hear it is when i first turn the key, hope that helps

Its not a seal..... its a ware plate and o-rings. And on the pumps here..... noticable..... we got them down 11 db's on the bench on some.



WELL let me put it to you this way:



Guy had a 200 GPH pump. These things are on the loud side. He had an old one without the update. he sent it into me and I did the update and sent it back. He called me and said that he could not hear the 200 GPH pump @ 45 PSI over the enigne when running. That is a good example right there.

Say if someone were to purchase a brand new pump, would the above upgrades be part of the new pump? Are the brand new FASS'es loud as well?

We have been doing this update for over 6 months now on our pumps being shipped. So yes, they have the update. And no, we wont let them go out the door if they are overly loud.

I would also like to send my Fass 150 in to get updated to make it quieter. I had mine installed by the powershop in enumclaw. The serial # 8525. I have pulled the top part from the truck because it has a sealed cable. Do I need any more info besides my name and address with serial #? Please let me know.

My Fass 200 Runs For A Few Seconds And Then Makes A Gurgle Sound While It Is Running And Then Sounds Fine For A Few Seconds And Then Does It Again, Almost Like A Relief Is Relieving It Is Set At 49 Psi..... wtf Is This Normal And This Thing Is Loud, I Have 5 Inch Straight Pipe And Hear It Over The Truck... .

A gurgling noise is normal. This is air building up in the WS and when it builds up enough to overcome the adapter lip that the filter screws onto, it will be sucked into the pump. This is the noise you are hearing. Hearing it every once and a while (more after driving the truck) is fine.



As for the pump noise... ... we have our update. Or you can see if you are having restriction issue by trying the 5 gallon bucket test. I have heard of some with the Suction Tube Kit getting rocks (Or other debris) jammed into the inlet and causing all sorts of issues……. . might be worth checking.
