The question: nothing in the directions address the in-tank pump's fuel level sender. Definitely want the fuel level sender active. The directions I have don't refer to an 02 with the intanker so I'm wondering if anyone has some experience - I'd like to know what to expect before I take the tank out and start. As I remember from the Glacier directions there is some splicing to do. And since its already there, I'd like to be able in case of a Fass failure to rehook up the in tank pump.

Just installed the new HPFP but my Westech guage/sender(Genos) mounted on the fuel filter cover has very erratic readings ,12 to 15lbs at idle but dropping as low as 5lbs on light acceleration. I hooked up a Vulcan fp guage at the injection pump- it reads a steady 15lbs and drops to 14lbs on acceleration.

I assume the erratic readings could be from trapped air? I haven't test driven the truck yet but will do so tomorrow but seems to idle ok maybe a little up and down by a 50rpms at idle (the Vulcan guage also shows a 1lb change as the idle goes up and down).

Sounds like you got a bum sending unit..... that is what they do when they are defective or going south

Might also be a bad ground. That's what had mine going erratic for a while. I ran a ground direct to the neg. Battery terminal & it's steady at 20 now & I can only pull it down a few lbs with heavy throttle.

Very pleased with the response - smoother and lots more power (don't understand that one) fuel pressure 15lbs to 13lbs on acceleration. My main objection is the mounting of the pump in clear sight - wouldn't last a second in a mexican parking lot (I travel mexico a lot) or any other major city in the US. So that will have to be modified asap. Then the hose connections should be 90s!
