I had my Fass installed yesterday, and I'm not happy with it all. From the crimped fuel connectors that fall apart in your hand, to the blown

30amp fuse in the Fass harness, to the constant check engine light with the 628 code from pulling the stock pump relay, the noise, which I didn't notice on my 02 probably because the engine was so loud :-laf, and finally Fass recommends getting power from the cigarette lighter fuse, which is fine until you turn the key to the accessory position to listen to the radio and the Fass pump fires up and all you hear is a loud hum.

After having said all that, I really do feel an increase in performance. It made a defininte improvement with throttle response and made the TST come alive, but I can't live with all the other faults and am strongly considering taking it out and starting over. :(

Is there anybody out there in a similar situation as me? Anybody that switched systems and still felt the same performance increase?

I came really close to getting the GDP fuel system from the start, now I really wishing I did! Anybody want to buy a Fass cheap? :-laf

That sucks man! Should've bought the GDP kit. Right now on every forum there is always someone talking about FASS problems. You can't go wrong with the little walbro that fits in your hand and is quiet as a mouse. Mines set at 42psi and the most I've ever pulled it down to is 40psi.

GDP's walbro for sure, I still dont understand the whole FASS fascination... . garbage in my opinion. Remember the walbro is built for 100psi and if you want to run 600 ponies you need only set it at 40psi. at 40psi walbro is loving life.

GDP all the way. Except if you have an 05 or up Rich's kit uses a new pick up tube which I was not too fond of. So Reb. wired mine in series with the stock pump. Turns on with the stock pump, gives me the extra PSI and works great, plus I got to keep my stock pick up tube. Its just the way to go.

Something is very wrong, I have no codes with mine and it should not have blown any fuses. Sounds like it was not installed correctly.

Very happy with my lil Walbro. Inlet pressure at a modest 55 psi. :-laf

My FASS has never caused a code, and only runs when the ECM is telling it to. It behaves exactly like the stock lift pump. It turns off independent of the key if I leave it on.

Anyway, I liked the 150 w/filters at first, but now it's gotten really loud. It also cavitates quite a bit, even with new filters. Additionally I can only use the top 3/4 of my fuel tank, because the FASS pickup sits too high in the tank.

Maybe one of these days I'll swap it out for a GDP kit...

Wow, what a difference 8 months makes! Does anyone else remember the below thread from back when the Walbro concept was still just a prototype? Now, it's gone mainstream and is receiving recommendations over the FASS.

I was one of the Walbro "beta testers" before Glacier started up, but so far I've had nothing but a positive experience with my Walbro, and I'm glad it's finally been accepted by the community at large.

Is there a web site I can find this lil ol' pump? I'm getting some 80 HP EDM injectors and want some type of pusher pump to feedem'. Is it as much as the FASS pumps? I'm still looking for that money tree, so until I find it I'm on a buget... .

Thanks MFalkinham... WOW!!! :D I can handle that price!!! :--) Now, it says that you need a bypass regulator for Dodge trucks or it will feed to much, did you get them from Summit? Those of you that have these on the HPCR trucks, how exactly did you install this pump?

Wiring is probably only an issue on the 05 trucks. 04. 5 and older trucks have the engine mounted lift pump so the Fass can plug into the harness for the stock pump. Can't do that on the 05.

For the guys with the GDP kits, did you notice a performance gain over the stock fuel system? Even running the TST on 3x3 I can feel an improvement with the Fass over the stock pump. Did you experience the same thing with the Walbro?

The main goal behind the FASS and Airdog is the air separator.

I never ever got a definitive answer if anyone as ever tested that to be a positive performance improvement (given same PSI's and flow rates. ).

All this praise for the GDP Walbro kit is comforting because I have mine in

the garage awaiting install. To all those considering this purchase, I would

recommend installing a 2 micron filter as well. I'm using a 2u filter/2u water separator and GDP stock filter eliminator.

If you have any questions about the Walbro from Glacier just call Rich, I swear to god I have never gotten a busy signal or no answer from that guy, and I bug him for info on a regular basis. Customer service second to none. If you have any kind of problem he will call YOU to make sure everything is working out. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about Rich, his products are top flight also.

Ok, so which kit(s), parts, do I need to have a separate fuel filter system? I see the main fuel pump kit, GSD-391, what kit do I order to have the separate filters. Anything else I need or should order?

Thx

Sid

I personally like my walbro due to if it even DID die on the road, The swap out is about as easy as you can get - and its so small that you can store an extra one under the seat - and for cheap $$ too. .

I did like my DPP FASS2 pump, until it got loud and I could not regulate it as easy like a real FASS system...

** please note I never owned a real full FASS with filters, only the pump-only kit ***
