I don't follow the 1st Generation side of Cummins power much but I must say I was rather impressed with how well some older trucks ran at the track while attending a couple events recently. Apparently some of you 1st Gen guys are figuring out how to make a little power without the smoke show to go along with it. That is quite different from the early days of 1st Gens making power.



I attended the NorCal rally in Redding this past June and Diesel Thunder in Spokane last weekend. At both events there were quick trucks that made little to no smoke once underway. Even launches were pretty clean. I know they are lighter than the 2dn & 3rd gen series but I'd say these guys were in the 14s. I am thinking it's the result of better injectors, turbos and tuning the VE pump but I thought I'd see what you guys had to say.

Seems from the discussions here that many are ditching the traditional H1C and HX series turbos and going with the modern hybrids.

Maybe that's the difference.

I was at Diesel Thunder. I seen you there but didn't have a chance to say hi.

I was the 2nd to Dyno that morning(1993 W250 Red&white) don't know if you where there that early. You might have see me at the track. I Dyno'd 339hp/604tq and ran a 1. 88 60ft on a 14. 20 1/4 without overdrive. I wish I had some video of the truck at the track maybe next time. Had lots of fun.



I run the stock H1C with the 18. 5 exhaust housing and a stage 3 compressor wheel
 
Dana I missed you on the dyno, I didn't get there 'til 9:30 or so. I saw ya at the track though, you laid down a good puff at launch then very minimal haze the rest of the way. Got 2 good video shots. . . PM me your address and I'll send it to you, or if you're wandering around Kennewick sometime come on by. Would like to see your truck :cool:

Who makes EDM injectors for 12-valves?
