Thumbs up on the dog idea Rhonda. Heelers and Aussies make good drivers. But border collies or bc/aussie crosses are all around tops. And they aren't near so onery. Okay, okay imho.![]()

My heelers are a little on the mean side when working. They have been known to take an ear off a calf or two when rounding up cattle. But when you are rounding up rough stock you need a rough dog and they fit the bill. I just wish they would stay out from under my horses!!! I have yet to see a working heeler over 1 year old that has all its teeththey never learn

My dogs get equine broke by allowing them to be around when we are riding the mules. They never miss with a kick and always aim. The dogs just naturally assume that my horses can kick that well also and stay out of the way except for the wifes stupid Great Dane. That thing never fails to get loose whenever I'm breaking a green horse or mule for someone. Adds a little excitement thats for sure.
