I do not know about the fast coolers but for a differential cover I would look at the PML www.yourcovers.com over the Mag. The PML is a simpler design uses the factory gasket and maintains the factory fill lever with a simple fill plug just like the factory, the PML also uses magnetic tipped bolts for the fill and drain with copper washer gaskets. It adds a quart over stock, cooling fins, and the ability to easily drain the oil.

I have both, and I can't tell you if they are worth it, but the added oil capacities sure as heck can't hurt. The hottest I have ever seen the trans oil get is about 200 and that was climbing Cabbage Hill in Oregon, on a very hot day, with a 13k 5er hooked on. I was in 3rd gear, 30 mph so there was little to no air flow over the coolers. Once I topped the hill and got back to highway speed it dropped back to about 170. I don't have a temp gage on the differential. Other than 5th gear falling off the only trans problem I've had was an input bearing failure at about 240k, and no problems with the diff at all.

A diff cover that allows easy fluid change and increased capacity is worth $$ to me, but not the kind of bank the Mag-Hytec requires. Thanks for that yourcovers.com link Bertram65; I like the price a lot more.

Personally I'm sceptical about the Fast Coolers' ability to appreciably cool the fluid, but they certianly can't hurt.

i have to agree with this one. im going to get the yourcovers cover when i get back to pendleton. i want to add a temp sensor to the stock cover and do a test of the temps i get with the stock cover and then a test with the aluminum cover.

i found out the fast coolers got ordered for me as a present, so i guess i will keep them since im not paying for them. as stated before, added oil cant hurt, so why not huh?
