What do they do with vehicles after commercials

OK, how many of you guys with these noisy Diesels have to turn your engines off to be heard at the fast food drive throughs? They tell me to turn mine off all the time so I just park it and walk inside now.

I only have to turn off the engine in the drive throughs that I don't know the sweety in the window. After a few trips through and some flirtin' at the window, they know my order and recognize my mug with the truck racket before I get there. They have my order ready and waiting for me and I have the correct amount in hand. Who says the noisy smelly Cummins Ram ain't a babe magnet?:D

I to just go in and have a seat. One guy actually had the gall to tell me it sounded like my truck needed some oil. I just grinned and said it already has 11 quarts in it.

Running fanless in the winter I've found no need to shut down. Most of the time I just walk in anyways, it's usually faster.

Alot of the knuckleheads working at these places can't get my order right even if they can hear me loud and clear. So I shut it off when ordering so I leave with what I ordered.

I won't go through the drive thru. Long before I bought my CTD. It is also one of my pet peeves about how the place treat the inside customer like second class compared to the drive thru. How many times have you seen the stuff you ordered go to the drive thru even though the car wasn't even in line when you ordered? I am suprised that the EPA hasn't shut them down. How much smog is emitted by all of the idling vehicles?

The noise is so bad, i dont even use drive throughs anymore in my truck. Between my diesel and the girl who speaks no english taking my order, its a lost cause.

who in the ........

EMD,

Where have you been man? Good to see you back none the less.

I hate drive-throughs, but I LOVE FAST FOOD! I hate having to turn the truck off but what can you do? I feel bad for the people with the headset on because it has to hurt their ears.

Mr. Big Ideas

I've always thought this was the simplest solution, Dave Thomas (God rest his soul) got halfway there: Weatherproof touchpad to place your OWN order (actually have it your way the right way) display screen showing each item and running total (Duh). Then you drive up, pick up and pay. You see, you don't need a diesel, a vanful of lil' screamers is enough noise for total confusion!!!

I do that!!! Picture the look on their faces when they hear "that's to go" over the drive-thru speaker/microphone. My wife just

Or...............

just turn on a little power and talk to em' with ya C. B. mic. They really like that, especially when they are taking someone elses order and you are on the other side of the parking lot calling out something else. Found this out one day when I was talking to my buddy who was in the drive-thru line and he said their little computer screen goes nuts when one of us would key our radio... ... :D :D :D

ISBPilot, good one!:D I'll have to try that one of these days but I don't think my CB has the power needed to cause confusion. Any particular channel?

Wow, sounds like I am not the minority when it comes to noisy trucks. Was a little surprised to see the results, didn't expect things to be that one sided.
