Hi, just joined the forum today.
I currently have two 1996 2500s. My first is a single cab longbed manual trans. Didn’t take long driving it to decide that I wanted a 4x4 extended cab.
Bought another ‘96, club cab 4x4 NV4500 longbed. Had it a week before we cab-swapped it. Now has a 2000 model quad cab with the ‘96 dash. I’ve had it about 6 months, and it’s allmoooost ready to put in service.
I’ve joined a couple of other forums that proved to be dead, just looking to discuss stuff with like-minded folks. I wasn’t aware of this board until I ordered parts from Geno’s. (Didn’t know they were local to me either!)

Looking forward to joining in, there’s bound to be some questions.
Trev

Hey Trev,
Welcome to the Forum! I've been a member since shortly after I got mine (see signature) in May of 01. Great Forum and Geno's staff are a great bunch of folks. TDR folks are very knowledgeable and willing to help/share info. Your 96 with a 2000 Q/C cab and 96 dash sounds interesting. Please share some pictures when you get a chance don't be bashful we love to see those "in-progress" shots. BTW: Hover over your name in the top right corner when the pop up opens select "signature" and tell a bit about your trucks so when you post folks can see what you got. Enjoy the TDR.;)

I wasn’t sure where to post stuff like that. Some forums have a section for reader’s rides or build threads. Don’t want to clutter up the place!

No clutter at all. Everyone likes to see what the other folks have. And, most importantly for you and the rest of us, when you post a question - why's my truck doing XXX - you don't have to type year, model, etc. helps us help others.

Sorry for the lull, we went to Cedar Key for turkey and my wife’s birthday week. Took the red 2wd with a new-to-us camper on. Truck performed flawlessly, wish that was true of the camper roof! I’m trying to upload pics but keep getting an image too large message.

Open the image on your PC then reduce pixel size and try again. I think it's pixel size? Anyway, reduce it and try.

What’s a PC?
Lemme see if I can finagle it with this Iphone...
Does the iphone have instagram "Layout" app in the apple store, its pretty nice to use and can make smaller pics and the sort. You dont need instagram to use it either.

Haven’t had much time to play with photos. Got truck back from paint and trying to get ready to put the bed back on.

I ordered the full boat fuel hose kit from LarryB’s, want to have all that squared away. The other thing I want is a working fuel gauge. Every place I look says the part is discontinued. Is there a workaround? Just buy the whole shebang instead of just the gauge piece?

The steel parts are pretty rusty.

Update- ordered one from Geno’s , along with a new throttle cable kit.

Well, as time permitted this Christmas weekend I got some stuff done. All new fuel lines, new lift pump, new delivery valve holder o-rings, a bunch of wiring and vacuum cleaned up and deleted under the hood. Swapped the camper tiedowns over from the red truck. Removed the “prime lock” fuel filter relocation gizmo. About ready to set the bed back on.

It’s sitting in the box out in the shop. I don't think it’s good for much, but I may still take the one out of my red truck and need a piece.

Bam, you took the bed off to get at the fuel tank top? Guess if you have the equipment/manpower and a place to do it in that'd make it easier than laying under and dropping the tank, for sure! Did you install a draw straw or just a new module?

View attachment 110357 Actually, I took it off to replace it. The original bed was pretty hammered and I found a really nice one locally. It’s been painted and sitting in my yard for months. I just waited to do those “under bed” jobs until the old one was out of the way.

Besides the tank module and fuel lines, we cleaned and painted as necessary back there. It’s a Georgia truck and not rusty, but it sure looks good with satin black underpinnings!

Drove it to work yesterday and decided to visit Geno’s Garage in person for some more goodies

Chris was a big help, I got a cab full of odds and ends (and no shipping)

Sorry, just the module. I couldn’t see the need for a draw straw in my case
