I think it would be better if the trees were a little bigger

LOL:-laf:-laf

Yeah building roads through them is not enough they should be able to handle 4 lane traffic through the trunks of them..... :D

Thanks for letting us see the pictures. We have been to a lot of places in Montana but have never been there. Nice dogs, what do you travel in and do the dogs mind staying in the R V. We have a 6lb. Yorkie in our 36 ft 5th wheel. Where is medicine lake in Montana.

Most any of the coastal Oregon CG's are really great - many have interesting family activities, biking, hiking, etc.

The interior of Oregon has great ones as well - Diamond Lake close to Crater Lake is great for fishing, hiking and biking - has a great marina and cabin rentals in addition to tent/RV spots:

Crater lake makes a great day trip while camping at Diamond lake too...
Beautiful photos Gary!

No CG pics at medicine lake? And boat ramp or fishing facilities?

There is a boat ramp there and I know they used to rent row boats. Boy did I get blisters in 1985. There is a lodge on the lake and they may have boat tours in the summer. The hiking around this lake is spectacular!!! Especially in the spring and fall. I've camped in there for up to two weeks at a time in the off season and had the whole place to myself. In 82 when we camped in the spring the restrooms were still under in snow. One year we even hip booted down the creek, on the east end to where Trick Falls dumps down the chute.

One morning my wife and I were walking around the lake just before sunrise and spotted a sow with 2 cubs. We got quite a bit of video from that and saw them every morning for the next week and a half. The camp grounds spots are the best I've ever been in, especially where the upper and lower part of the lake has a narrow that you can walk across. All this makes me want to make a campfire video of just Two Medicine and the surrounding area.

And here is the pups camper. They travel in the cab of the truck and sleep in the trailer at night. There's not a whole lot of room in a camper for extended periods of time.

we were at Lake Sakakawea last summer for a week and started to go to the corps. park but decided to go to Bismark to that state park at Mandan, Gen. Custer and a lot of history. Then we went on to Medora and stayed in the CG in town behind the depot. From there went to Deadwood, SD just a week before the big rally. The cycles were already filling up the area. Stayed there a week.

Better stop, if I tell everthing at once I won't have anything to talk about.

Wish I would have known that!!! I love meeting TDR guys from different parts of the country! Sorry I missed you!

As Bill Carlyle said, Red River, NM is alway a nice resort, which is very high in altitude (8500 to 9000 ft) and very scenic. Red River is located in the Enchanted Circle along with Angle Fire, Eagle Nest, Taos and Questa.

OK guys, make me admit I miss the Rockies and southwestern US. I was born and raised there. If you end up in Red River this summer say hi to Donna and Dave for me. They're my old neighbors in AbbyQQ and are repeat workcampers in Red River.

If you end up on the other end of the country, try West Point Lake in West point Georgia. It a large and beautiful lake. Lots of camping areas. Most all are lakeside. If I can dig up some pix, I'll post them.

Gotta explore the middle of the country this summer.

Great pictures. I think they are golden retrievers from the pictures. They have a nice home away from home. My dog wants to be with us and would not put up with being by himself.

Bignasty:

I didn't see an Elk in the picture. You must have had him on the dinner table already. I would also like to know the city or town near medicine lake.

Bill

Bill, click here for the location; Mapquest location at the red star. Closest town is Kiowa via real windy road you don't want to be towing a trailer. Other one is East Glacier. Come in from East Glacier towing a trailer.

My favorite place is in Gore, VA. The Cove Campground is owned by friends of mine. Over 3000 acres in the beautiful mountains, 4 lakes, cabins, camper spots, 300+ campsites, hot showers, hiking, rifle range, sandy beach, and more.

Very down-to-earth folks; check 'em out!

Oh, and winter time, they've got snow-tubing! w00t!
