From BIG!

I read on another forum that FCA is ditching the Chrysler mark, the Pentastar.:{
This is very unfortunate and sad to a loyal Mopar guy like myself. I know there are other Chrysler guys here who owned Dodge's before Cummins got involved. Let your voice be heard.

More info here and a petition.

I signed, it is a symbol of Chrysler. If they want to rid the heritage items they need to shed it all. Is Obama in on this rebuilding of Chrysler ?

Well, the Pentastar represented the 5 brands of the old Chrysler corporation - Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto, Chrysler and Imperial - so as a corporate symbol it really isn't representative of FCA since 3 of those brands don't exist any more. I guess if it's that important as a matter of tradition to y'all, great, but I can understand their reasoning.

Corporations constantly update the corporate symbols to represent the latest marketing themes and products. Look at Caterpillar INC. this corporation change their marketing name from Caterpillar Tractor Co to Caterpillar Inc. and have had numerous corporate logos over the years. I can remember three of the symbol changes in the forty years that I worked there. The last one being the up you’re “A” symbol that appears on the products now. (Cat with a triangle under the A)

You're right Jim, but the way CAT does it is tasteful and consistent. I believe FCA wants to eventually erase Chrysler completely, the way Chrysler erased AMC. I would be more receptive if they kept a logo but changed it up a but sort of like CAT or the way the MoPar brand mark has evolved. Currently it's just the circular M which I like since it's connected to the past. I have a collectible die fast Dodge panel truck with all the mopar logos on it. I'll put up a pic later.

Better add more points to your star. Fiat also brings Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Maserati and (until today's announcement) Ferrari to the party.
