Yep. At low speeds when turning left or right it feels like the truck is in 4wd ... like it's bucking. When going at high speeds nothing at all is noticeable.

I haven't noticed a clicking, but i'm seriously thinking u-joint on drivers side.

Put the thing up on a jack and rotated passenger side tire. Moves freely.

Driver side was significantly harder to rotate and seemed to have a "dead spot" where it was really hard to turn ...

HELP! Ideas?

4wd like 2wd

Had that same thing on my 96, when you have it up in the air , turn the wheel all the way one way or another and you will probably hear a cluncking sound, was a bad u joint on mine Good luck Dan

Mechanic just got back to me. Definately driver side u-joint. He also said I have a bad tie-rod end. When he put the part in the computer, a notice came up that said Dodge has an entirely new design and replacement kit for the whole tie-rod assembly for like 200 bucks that supersedes just doing one tie-rod. Some kind of sort of recall thing and redesign. Any ideas guys?

Dunno abou the tie rod. Just replaced the Drivers side Ujoint for the exact symtoms you described. Passenger side is not far behind.

Mine did the same thing awhile back. Both front "U" joints (axle) were toast. Replaced them with greaseable Precission 464's. No more issues.
