XP Problem

Neat HTML trick

I had heard a person could bid on a travel trailer on the GSA website. Just got done checking it out and can't belive the condition these things are in! Many of them are only two years old or less. They have holes in the walls, floors, are missing doors, windows, lp tanks you name it.

a few are completely stripped clean and are salvage only.

Are these in this shape because of the people that used them? Or was all the items taken out to be used in other trailers? I can't belive that people using them could trash these things so bad. Sure, I can understand a few carpet stains, small nail holes for pictures and normal wear and tear. But smashed doors, missing AC units, cabinet doors , microwaves, broken tables. My God what kind of animals used these things?

Whatcha' expect when someone gets free rent... should've seen a neighbors $300,000 house here that some section 8 freeloaders tore up in 6 months time!

If one of those trailers was given to me to use, I would have taken good care of it because it was not mine. Then to steal every thing out of them ( if that is what happened ) just really fries my chicken. Oh well, our tax dollars at work again. FEMA is most likely going to buy new ones. If ya get a chance check them out, they have pictures of them inside and outside with written descriptions of each one. What a shame

GH, I would've done the same as you, had I been given one. Lots of people have no respect for other peoples property. Sometimes even their own.

i never really got the whole trash it cause it's free thing, geez you're already living in a cheese box why make it worse by crapping all over it:confused:

i for one wouldn't purchase any fema trailers from any area affected by katrina or any other natural disaster, reason being, of course their condition and most of all the possibilty of harmful bacteria carried by the ventalation systems from the outside air(caused by the evaporating flood water/high humidity), yes it's that bad. mardi gras is only partly to blame for their condition, anyone remember the chaos that ensued after the levees burts, and the city flooded? even those trailers up here (175 miles from NO, due to us having damage caused by the second hurricane) are treated horribly, by those that do not appreciate what the gov't did, though not enough:rolleyes: , for them. that being said a good friend of mine, and his parents, lost their homes when the levees burst and were given fema trailers, and treated them like it was their own home(s)(serviced & cleaned them inside and out, etc. ) just recently they bought new homes in the chalmette area (suburb of NO) and are doing fine. go fugure. in ending my place of employment is located along a major u. s. highway, and i remember the feverish attempt at hauling as many trailers as possible whithin a weeks time to that area,(all brand new and shiny clean trailers), coming back they are nearly gray/green from the buildup of mold and other fuguses, the interiors are undescribable, and like already mentioned, most are hardpressed to have any of the options installed still intact. However, if anyone still would like to purchase a trailer,(most can be had for under $5 or 6K) i would have it professionally cleaned/serviced in and out. But thats up to ya'll to decide. off rant. :D

thanks

The same kind that sat on their butts waiting for more government handouts to help them, when they didn't even help themselves.

The same kind that looted their neighbors TV, and then said we are only looting to survive.

The same kind that overwhelmingly vote Democrat.

Basically, the slugs of society, that blame everyone else for their problems.

Bingo! What goes around comes around!

Having delivered many FEMA campers from the factories to LA, MS, AL, GA, and FL and also towed many used FEMA campers to staging areas I can tell you that campers in FL were treated just as bad as any in LA. Some were obviously well taken care of and the appreciation of the those who lived in it showed. Unfortunately way too many were trashed.

Godspeed,

This sort of behavior is very common among low lifes anywhere. It makes no logical sense but those that have the least seem to treat what they do have the worst. I have seen whiskey tangos around here trash their section 8 housing, destroy furniture that was donated to them, and even when given a free car, it's in a non functioning state within a couple of weeks.

... . It makes no logical sense but those that have the least seem to treat what they do have the worst... .

Could it be the treatment of their own stuff helps put them in the place they're in? I have yet to grow the cajones to do this, but one day I'd like to go up to one of my neighbors sitting on his/her front porch and say "You're welcome. " My tax dollars support his/her lazy leeching butt, and they live in a hovel that was once nice, and cant even get off his butt to clean any of it up. To say nothing of the 4 pre-school kids running around wild and half naked, tearing stuff up and in general being little heathens. You get on to them about it, and somehow it's your fault for not letting them throw rocks through your window:confused:.

I think if one chooses to live in a storm/ disaster proned area (coasts and CA), they are taking that chance. There should be no government intervention or "help" of any kind when disaster strikes There is enough opportunity (even for a felon) in this land to make more money than most of these leeches will ever see. Keep your legs closed, get a job, and trim the excesses of life, and you will get ahead. If you want to make it, you may actually have to move somehwere else. Ironically, moving somewhere else also lessens your chance of getting hit by a hurricane.

I guess when everything is handed to you, there is no feeling of accomplishment. Having to work hard for what you get, so why bother to take care of it. If it gets to trashed or no longer works someone will give you another one.

I have been handicapped for about 10 yrs. I still work 40 hrs. a week doing manual work. sometimes I don't know how I make it through each day. I don't want to sit on my butt at home and wait for a S. S. check to come. And I do the best I can at taking care of my home. The front yard looks good, the back not so much, the dobies tear it up. I do the best I can to make sure my cars and trucks are clean and operating. I take pride in what I have worked so hard for... ..... sorry for the whine
