fender flares

I got the bushwacker extenda-flares from jcwhitney for 220. 00, you cant beat that. They even sent me an extra set for the front for some reason, and a right fender from a 1967 bettle. LOL I called them and said just keep them, cost more to ship back. So I said OK??? LOL So it anyone wants to buy a set if front flares for CHEAP, let me know #ad

Here is an idea I've been kicking around: I've been wanting to get the rocker panels sprayed with a urethane bedliner material. What I'm thinking of doing is drawing a line around the outside of each fender flare, and having the bedliner material sprayed up to those lines. Then I'd re-install the fender flares. This way, all of the sheet metal under the fender flares would be coated, and (theoretically #ad
) the possibility of rust being formed by trapped water and mud should be eliminated. I don't know how good the flares would bond to the bedliner material with the double-sided tape, though. I was thinking of using some kind of more permanent adhesive or sealer to mount the flares.
Any opinions?

85cj, Armorthane is a spray on polyurethane bed liner material. We use it to spray our aluminum gun cases that we produce.
Andy, that is basically what I did except I'm not going to remount the liners/flares.

I installed Bushwacker OEM's on my Black dodge. . never even painted them. Would like at some point to have turboliner sprayed on my rocker panels and flares. . I think there are pictures that show the flares in the gallery
