The ABS sensor on the rear diff measures the rotation of the ring gear. That gets converted to speed and if it stops rotating means both rear wheels have stopped. Rams use a 3 circuit ABS (one on each front wheel hub and one for the rear) for their 4-wheel ABS. The standard rear wheel ABS has a single circuit for the rear wheels.

so if the sensor in my truck was telling the computer that my brake was being applied whenever i hit a bump on the highway,then my torque was coming unlocked, it been a week now and the torque hasn`t slipped on a bump,keeping my fingers crossed though.

i have come to realize that owning a 2nd gen cummins ram must become a hobby sort of for us home mechanics, these truck have so many problems that you need a bit of blind passion to keep trying to fix thier problems ha ha hah , how does these trucks compare with the fords and chevys in terms the many issues ours have?

i know that if i didn`t love that ole loud masculine cummins so much that mine would be history ha ha ha h
 
i am not sure about that one. maybe another member that knows more about the that system on the truck will chime in. i would think that sensor is only active IF the brakes are pressed but i might be way way wrong on that one. it seems though from your situation that what you are saying would be the case. when i had to replace mine i was having trans problems and when i did the ohm check on the sensor it was bad. i did not try leaving it unplugged. i also did not have an abs light on nor did i have any codes. call dodge and get one. i dont think they cost much.
