How does this ride with the g rated 19.5s? Any trouble off road?

19.5 tires ride GREAT on the highway and on smoother roads.
They are also EXTREMELY stable, strong and durable and offer extended longevity on these heavy trucks!!!

That being said, the MUCH stiffer sidewall on the G rated tires WILL beat, any passengers and the truck to death on any and all rough roads. Driving substantially slower is the ONLY solution to this problem on a rough roads.

With the stiffness of the 3500 suspension, all roads seem to ride rough unless there is a substantial amount of weight in my truck. More weight gives a better ride for sure, but the ride was still harsh when empty on the stock 17's.

Any hope for an air suspension smoothing out the ride?

Just adding air bags, No.

Full spring replacement like the R4Tech system, yes.
Keilderman 2 stage, yes. Keilderman full air suspension yes.

Had 2 stage on 5500 and it rode smoother than my 3500SRW. Just bought an 18 with factory air suspension which is very similar to the R4Tech and it is smoother than my 06.

I am considering super singling my 05 3500 flat bed camper rig, for better winter traction.

Pros, cons?

Should the goal be to have the same width track? I just learned on this thread that a regular SRW is narrower in the rear. Why? Would it track better in snow if they just followed the front tire's rut?

Sounds like sticking with 17" rims is the ticket for rougher roads.

I have an extra set of hummer rims from my 03 2500; they have 8" back space, if memory serves. Anyone know the load rating on that?

I got the dually for the added weight capacity, but it gets stuck too easily n deep snow.

Camper is tall and heavy. Any other suggestions for improving sway control? Thanks.
