Firestone Air Bags

Thinking of getting a set of the Firestone Air Bags for my '03. Has anyone installed a set on the 03 and how do they mount up? Did you drill the frame? I know that Dodge does not recommend drilling on the frame member.

You replace the snubber with a bracket, two allen head bolts, and then two u-bolts around the axle.

Easy install. About one hour depending on how you run the air lines and if you have wheel liners on. Much better ride unloaded. Great ride loaded.

I thought I'd read somewhere that they reduce the amount of suspension travel, Is that true?

I installed a set over the weekend and am finishing up the plumbing for the air compressor and in-cab control now. Hopefully by end of tomorrow, that will be all done.



They haven't made a significant difference in ride quality that I can tell (so far anyway) and they'll sure help when I put my 4500# Lance camper on the truck.

Installation is darn easy compared to the ones I had on my '96 and '01.
