Check the May madness 2002 update in the events forum. We have a "go" on the sled pulls. I hope that makes some of you happy. Put your Rams where your mouths have been :D The rest of us will sit on the porch and watch you break... errrr... flex some parts :D

next question or 3 is will there be weight classes for trucks with drugs and no drugs----weights allowed----or will it be one class for everyone..... Gene that's a bold gimme(100')... ... chris

Joe,

This sounds like the perfect time to find out who top dog is. If the heavily fueled midwesterners can make it and are willing to get on the dyno to prove their power, then it's only fair that you pull with them. There has been a lot of bickering about who is the big dog... ... ..... so you big dogs put your truck where your mouth is!! Joe... . don't worry about breaking parts..... I've been in your garage..... you have plenty of parts :D . Ahhhh... ... stir, stir, stir.

if the Big Dogs come....

From what i hear, they might need a class for triple turbo'd rigs if ALL the big dogs make it.

Also I second Cords echo of "If you want to play don't just sit in your corner of the sand box!":D ;) :p

Just be sure that the dyno is BEFORE the Sled Pull.

Stiring away,

Andrew

What ?

You cats want to seperate Tripled Turboed rigs already!?!?!?!!?

Prolly only one..... or two tripled rigs out there anyway.

Come on, run whut ya brung!

I doubt the triple boys will drive 2800 miles in the beginning of construction season anyway. :D

I'm putting on the show for YOU, not to show what I can do!

I'll probably dyno as a courtesy to DD who helped Sickly get that last 100 hp, and serves as their 12 valve test bed sometimes. Diesel Dynamics is also helping me put on MM02 by serving as the Dyno Days center.

I have a sled puller/mud bogger helping me to draft rules. He is a fellow Rammer.

Here is the post I put on the events forum:

Basic tentative schedule is dyno days Wednesday and Thursday. Nowel, are you gonna give up your throne to the newcomers? I haven't seen you dyno in a long time And what about Cumminstrokin, are we going to see your new ride?

Sled pulling, drag racing, mud bogs Friday and Saturday. Show-n-shine Saturday. Technical seminars Friday &/or Saturday. Banquet Saturday evening. Vendor displays Friday and Saturday. Lake Mead dinner cruise Wedn and Thu. evenings.

It's costing a lot of money to bring in the sled so I want to see more pre-registrations Adam, where is your registration form?

I had a meeting with the dealership this week. Don Trudeau, co-owner, is very enthusiastic and hopes to get $ from DC. He said the new crew cab dually will be there on display. Yep read that again, CREW cab.

Joe,

We understand the work it takes to put this show on.

Therefore, I suggest a "sit in", or rather a 'drive in".

That way, you can run the show, yet your truck will be able to compete in all the events!!!!

Adam would be a safe choice, as he only broken minimal parts in the past.

You could not go wrong with csutton either, very knowledgable driver.

Just trying to help!:D

stir,stir,stir,mix,mix,mix

Joe D's "Old Sickly" in front of a sled,,Come on Gene,we all know that won't happen,,Ya know, somewhere in the past he bashed the easterners about the left coast being able to make all this "power"while the easterners were still in search of it,,While rolls on a jet are a good tune up,just like using a Superflow to a gasser, all us Easterners know the real show of power is dragging the sled,,I've said it before and I'll say it again,"Sickly" and "The Feared White Dodge" in a winner take all shoot out,,Roll the jet, drag the sled and a sand drag,,May the best tune-up and driver win,,Oh,what did they say,its not fair Smokin Dave has twins, somehow I can only think that this would not be a problem after seeing this truck in action with a single turbo,,Oh wait, now it will be the easterners will not make the long haul,,I'd say there are two many out here that would disagree with that,,Oh the last little mixer too,us out east here seem to have heard a viscious rumor about some of the left-coasters with big power who de-tune their rides to use them daily,,MMMM,can't say that too many out here do that... ... ... .

Hammer, better watch those comments about the left coast. :D The first #10, called 2x back then, was made and dyno tested near the left coast. ;)

Enjoy your sled pulling, I enjoy my dyno testing. I get comparative numbers, you get comparative competition that varies with track conditions, settings on the sled etc.

I use my Ram for daily driving in full tune, tow the trailer, hunt on mountain trails. If you want real competition, drive your rigs to May Madness, take some trail rides, and then do dyno runs and sled pulling. Sickly is a real daily driver. So are the Diesel Dynamics trucks.

I'd like to see some eastern trucks come to MM02 and give us some horsepower numbers on the dyno to talk about. Nice thing about all dynoing the same place and time is that driving skill, traction, suspension, weight boxes, etc. are left out of the equation. "Just the power, mam, just the power" as Joe Friday might have said :D

Speaking of power. Joe your new P7100 pump camshaft is now ready. I'll ship it on down with Lawrences. Do I hear 700 hp on #2 only :--)

Paint the sled to look like his Airstream, then we'll all get to see how far Joe pulls it... :D We can get one of the casinos to make book on how far down Hwy. 160 he pulls it... :D

I wish I could make it out there. Maybe next year. Give 'em heck, Joe !

Joe,,I realize, as most do, who the important players are/were in cam plate design for our 12 valvers and there were more players in the 12 valve hp design than you'll ever have get reconized,,Love to come out this year myself, but, two family death over the holidays ate alot of my time off up so it will be next year for me,,TRAILRIDE?????,,Whats that??,,Does that mean I have to take a chance to scratch my truck and get dirt on it and in the Armor Alled inner fenders???,,Street Diesel pulling should not involve suspension mods of any kind(shocks only),weight boxes, traction control devices or any tire that is not D. O. T approved(plus no cutting the dot tires to enhance their performance),,They should all be tagged and insured and be driven a set distance before pulling, which will eliminate the trailer queens(those built for pulling only ,even though they are tagged and insured),,Power, real power is made in front of the sled or dragging your camper/work trailer, not on a 60 second dyno run,,Dyno runs,as I said, are a great tune-up and baseline for your truck and mods, but how can you honestly tell from it where your egt's will be in a heavy pull/tow, on a pull of 60 sec,,Big fueling and air mods are put to the true test towing your camper/work trailer and dragging the sled and thats why I said that,,"Power mam. Just the power" thats what we all want to see and not just off a dyno roll,,Just my . 02.....

On second thought, Sled Puller sez to fill Joe's Airstream with concrete, we might need to change the tires for some that won't bulge and give the game away. :D Anybody know how to fill Carlisle trailer tires with concrete?
