TDR Issue 37

Ugly cat?

Does anyone know where I can purchase a fish bleeder? I have searched on Google , BassPro and Cabela's. Can't find one.

The one I have used looked like a giant safety pin which slipped through the gills and out the mouth so you could drag the fish along side the boat.

Thanks for the help in advance.

I know exactly what you're talking about and have used them. Don't remember what we called them but am almost positive it wasn't a bleeder.

Thanks for the replies. What I am looking for is not a stringer. The ones in the link above work well for several fish if you do not have a live well on the boat.

The bleeder is something that you can place through the gills of a walleye or salmon and then put it over the side and bleed it out. It makes for less mess when processing the fish and enables you to put the fish on ice sooner.

I drew the outline of one in paint using my mouse and attached it to this message. Hope it works. My free hand drawing isn't much better but I hope you get the picture.

The material for the bleeder is about 3/16 " in diameter.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks

Bruce
