According to the Daniel Stern web site it doesn't make any difference. I'd hook up to one of the batteries.

I'm waiting for a response from D. S. concerning the "plug and play"aspect of his kit. I don't want anything too complicated in the wiring department. If the kit comes with all of the connectors, I'll probably give it a try.

I plan to add driving light to my rig. Here is my idea. Open the hood and look at where the front radiator attaches at the bottom near the bumper. There is an extra hole in that bracket on both sides. I plan to make an "L" bracket that attaches there and will extend out under the bottom of the hood when it is closed. The lights will bolt to that bracket. Does anyone know how to wire the lights to come on with the high beams? If possible I don't want to break into a wiring harness.

Has anyone tried the "Bright-box" kit for the 3rd gen from Geno's yet? I was wondering if it was causing the computer to through a code. I drive quite a bit now holding the turn leaver back to get more light on the road and would gladly buy the Bright-Box if it works as advertised.

Did you see the comment in the first post? I'm certainly not an electrical engineer but I buy the statement. I think that if high and low beam were in separate bulbs that it would work although maybe overheat the plastic headlamp assembly.



On another post somewhere around here (I think it was on TDR) someone pointed out that the wiring wasn't up to handling the load when the stalk was pulled back activating both high and low beams.



One thing for sure, these lights could use some help.

I posted this somewhere, I just tapped into the high beam wire with a scotch-loc. Used that as a signal trip for a relay. Do not disturb any factory grounds, use something else and you should be fine.

Projector Headlight Replacements

The problem being the reflector design, the good news is that APC is making full replacement assemblies that use a projector headlight for low beam, and traditional reflector for high beam. (I don't know how good the high beam might be).



The bad news is they're not making them for Dodges (I just got a new Stylin' Concepts catalog, and it lists them for Ford & Chevy ).



Here is the Stylin Concepts web page for them; here is the APC web page for them. I just e-mailed APC at this address to ask them about the potential of a replacement for the '03 Ram, and referring them to the TDR discussions of the problem. Here's to crossed fingers

I had projector beam headlights APC's on a Ford SD . They looked great. I wish I could say that they performed well. They didn't ,not for $300+

Rats! Although, noticing their label on some of the questionable-looking aftermarket products (including auxilliary lights) in the auto parts stores, I guess I'm not surprised.
