Here I am

FleetGuard 2mic. filters

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

I'm having problems with Smarty files.

Best High Speed Idle Tool.........

On dodgeram.org there is a tech page of diesel facts/specs ( there are links to it everywhere on this site). There is a listing of acceptable versions of 2 micron oil filters for 12&24 valve engines. There are four filters listed.

My question is " are these full flow or off line filters"? As in they would take the place of my FG LF3894 ?? Would this be a wrong choice to use ?

i would stick with the LF3894, it is one of the better filters for the B series engines, a little bit more pricey but worth the protection. if your looking for better oil filtering, you wont find much better with a full flow oil filter, i would suggest adding a bypass oil filter system. amsoil makes seveal kits for the dodge trucks, they will filter down your oil to 2 microns, and drastically reduce your soot levels in your oil, as well as other contaminats.

I have a 1998 12 valve. Can someone put up a link to these "accepted 2 micron oil filters"?

I went to dodgeram.org but couldnt find it.

Thanks

Eric

Eric,

You read my mind.

Where is the 2 micron full-flow oil filter at Fritz's page?

This can't be true?

I think CochranD got confused with the new ULSD fuel Filters.

From Fritzs rampage:

... . A 2 micron fuel filter (04883963AB) replaced the 7 micron filter (04883963AA) for ISB applications.

Acceptable versions of the 7 micron filter for 12 valve engines include:

Raycor R33FG01

Fleetguard FS19522

Dodge 04883963AA - production stopped

Acceptable versions of the 2 micron filter for 12 and 24 valve engines include:

Raycor R33FG03

Fleetguard FS19598

Fleetguard FS19528

Dodge 04883963AB - superseded the AA version.

We quit using Fleetguard fuel filters at work as they had not lived up to the 2 micron claim. They lost a ton of injectors and pumps, and had test done on them and found out the filters would not filter better than 4 microns,so back to the Cat filters! They went a hair better than 2 microns in the testing they had done.

I crossed the last dodge filter (2 micron) with Wix and it staes it is a 2 micron NOMINAL filter... which doesn't mean it is the same as the others, just that the Wix filter is a NOMINAL-rated filter...

I think we are going to see a bunch of the "nominal" ratings as they can sorta make the numbers say whatever they want regardless of whether or not the filter is capable of filtering it.
