I have 2 bottle jacks, There cheap enough,
Easier to lift both sides and not have to swap the jack around.

The one 12 ton jack stays in truck ( El Cr*po jack is in garage, somewhere )

Also a 4 set jack stand kit ( not the best but not junk)
1 stand goes under each axle and 2 under the frame... .

Not much more work to jack and place stands in 1 operation than do the tire swap... Actually a little easier than the 1 jack method... .

Yes , 4 stands may be overkill,, ???
I to have scared the brown into my shorts, too many times
( remember doing brake jobs with a bumper jack ?)
Than there was the local who got is finger pinched between the springs when the jack kicked out. Cold weather, freezing, He had to cut his own finger off with a pliers.
That made me a believer...

Guess I have to hand it to Discount Tire on the dually rotation. I take the truck in every 6k for a rotation and balance. They mark each tire before removing them with what will be the new location on the truck. I have watched them each time and each time they get it right, never reversed the direction either.

Nothern tools carried some jack stands that had a steel pin to "hold the load" incase the rachet failed. I've got the 6 & 3 ton versions and that little pin gives a little bit more peace of mind. There is a web site It's a Boy! that rates floor jacks quality/performance.

well, i am a little lazy when it comes to tire rotation. i just go front to back. . i have 2x 3ton jacks. . one under the rear axle, one under the front and i pick up the one side so the tires are clear of the ground, buzz them off with the impact and swap them. then repeat on the other side [no jack stands when i rotate tires]

i have had all the tires off my truck and it was supported on 3x 3t jacks [2 up front, one out back]

i trust hydraulic jacks enough to do stuff like that, but i would never crawl under a vehicle that is only supported by jacks

Does anyone make a US made jack that I could consider? I don't need anything rediculously expensive or fancy. I refuse to buy chinese Craftsman tools, which are becoming pretty common except for their basic hand tool line.

I saw a Central Hydraulics Jack in Harbor Freight and forgot to look to see where it was made. I used their stuff a while back and it was made in the US then. Sears Jack is Chinese. Big business is so money hungry they are getting everything made in China that they can. They could be passing some of the savings on to the customer but they are not, too greedy. What goes around comes around. I can't wait for it to bite big business in the you know what. Good Year tires are ALL made in China now.
