I'm a fan of the carpeted floor mats. I wore out the originals, I wore out the replacements that Genos sold and now I have the substitute one that were Genos last offering. I had to cut a piece out from under the go pedal but they have been fine other thn that. Now I'm wondering what I'll do when these wear out. I don't want rubber floor mats.

In the snow country it’s a necessary item. Slush and salt soaking through the floor mats will have your ride looking like a Fred flintstone mobile in short order. Down in the dirty south a little rain on your clogs will get the mats wet, but quickly evaporate.

I didn't put nearly a million and a half miles just cruising around the sunny south. Plenty of winter driving and towing in the northern states and Canada. There was snow on the ground when I met Mike Wilson in Portland Maine.

My father was a very smart man. He moved our family out of MN when I was two. I still have kin there, but I'd never live north of OK or east of the Mississippi. I made it a habit to powerwash the truck, especially the underside, whenever I got back to TX.

That’s the key. Undercarriage wash with clean water. There are few 2nd gens in salt country without rot. Frames and body’s are shot 10 years ago. I see clean 2nd gens up here and they have been either repainted or imported from the south.
