Fluid changes

How often (mileage intervals) are you all changing your front differential, rear differential, transfer case, and transmission?

I had some chatter in the rear differential so I replaced the fluid in it and the front at about 20K. For the others I will follow the maintenance schedule unless I have an oil-related problem or get bored and want to do it sooner.

Factor gear lube is junk IMHO.

Why is factory synthetic gear lube garbage? You should head out and turn an oil change into a federal case.

Also any diff lube you use other then the factory fill better have all the same classifications as the factory lube. Otherwise prepare for a large fight if you ever have a differential warranty claim

My factory fluid in the rear diff was causing chatter and hop while turning at 5000 miles. Changed it at 8811 and it looked contaminated. I sent it off for tests. The new fluid now has 12,000 miles on it and is still great. I checked the front and it was still great so i plan to follow the owners manual from here on out. #ad
