I bought 12 quarts of the AMSOIL ATF for use in my 06 Manual trans and also to use in the transfer case, etc of my 02. I have 6 quarts left and it looks like it might be a few months before I need to change the trans fluid again. Will it hurt the fluid to sit in my garage for a while???? Thanks!!

The only fluids with finite shelf lives once opened (and even unopened if in plastic containers,) are brake fluid and air conditioning oil. Both attract moisture and brake fluid in plastic containers will absorb it through the container walls even if sealed.

I called Amsoil once and had this very same question. I was told that they do not have a specific shelf life for their product I called about (I don't remember now, but I think it was their motor oil), but the gentleman I spoke to said 2 years was ok.
