Flying J Gold Premium Diesel

I stopped at Flying J in Aurora Colorado tonight and picked up a brochure on Flying J Gold Premium Diesel Fuel. Click here to see the brochure. I did not check the price on this product, but their regular diesel was $1. 38/gal for what it's worth.
Does using a premimum grade fuel like this eliminate the need for fuel additives?
Thanks for any feedback. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about operating the new truck.
Does anyone have any experience with it?
Is it cost effective?

It is my understanding that all the diesel at flying j is the gold. If you look at the car pumps that have diesel they should have a sticker on the pumps that states it is the gold version.

I run it in my truck with stanadyne and seems to run better with it than without. Smoother idle and more power!!

700RMK is right,one Flying J I stopped at in Idaho even had a rack with that brochure on top of the pump.

Well, I guess I don't have to decide whether to spend extra money to buy the "Gold" fuel. Is this just advertising hype, or is the Flying J Gold really better than the others? I plan on using Flying J anyway as it is on my way to work and the price is right.

I get fuel their all the time (best price in that area of town, plus I live close). I also use stanadyne and I have noticed an increase of fuel milage and a smoother running truck (at idle) #ad

Hey guys, I'm down in Colorado Springs. I use Total's diesel. The pump says it has a minimum cetane rating of 50. It's been a much better performer for me than the Texaco stuff. When I moved into town, I asked some local diesel mechanics and operators where they get their fuel and why. Total was the top answer here, but we don't have a Flying J in the area.

Pull it up on the internet, they have alot of information from the company on what it does. I just purchased mine from DIS at a very good cost (e-mail me and I will forward their website and 800 number).

I've used Stanadyne for about 75,000 miles. I use the Jr. In Georgia we don't need the anti-gel stuff. The bottle says it treats 120 gals. With a 16 oz. bottle I use 1 oz to 7 gal. I pay $38 for 1 case. 12-16oz bottles. I've used others but go back to Stanadyne.
That's my experence.

Flying J has a web site that lists all their installations in each state and gives current prices for diesel and gas at each store. They are consistently the lowest price in most areas. My brother-in-law drives an 18 wheeler and clued me in. I use this to check on prices in my area. The closest Flying J is not too many miles away and if they are a lot cheaper, I drive over to the east side of Tulsa and stock up. Check their web site out. My $. 02. worth.

All I ever run around home is Flying J Premium Diesel. I can't say that it give me more HP but I have never had a water in fuel light come on and I don't drain regularly( only to start camp fires). It's good stuff!!!!!

What's even funnier is this:
On I-40, between Kingman AZ and Oklahoma City, they're spaced at approximately meal-stop intervals, and it drives the wife-n-kids nuts to eat at the same place, but not be at the same place, for 1-1/2 days in a row. (yes, i'm easily amused)

I used the stuff in my VW for the first year of it's life. I try to use it everytime I fuel both the VW and the Dodge. It's good stuff! Both oil burners love the stuff.

The sticker says minimum 40 cetane, but they said cetane is ususally around 45.

I still use a splash of Amsoil conditioner or Power Service and a shot of cetane boost.
