I want my fog lamps on when I'm running with my high beams. I would like to disconnect the wire instead of using a jumper. What wire should I disconnect in order to keep the fog lamps on with the highs? Where is it at under the dash and what color? If I have to use a jumper do I do it at the fuse panel inside the truck or in the power center under the hood? Any help would be appreciated. Remember, this is a 99 and I think the wiring changed some from earlier model 24 valve trucks, but I'm not 100% certain. Thanks for the help in advance. I'm going to go try to find the answer in the service manual. Problem with that is I'm not schematic literate.

The reason the stock wiring does not permit running the fogs with high beams is that it is illegal in some states (like mine). Watch out for smokey.

John,

The subject of foglights with high beam was here several weeks ago. The consensus at that time was to use a jumper.

My model year 2000 is probably similar to your 1999. The procedure is pretty basic:

1. Remove the foglight relay from the Power Distribution Center.

2. Use a jumper to short the two large sockets (3 and 5) where the relay used to be.

You'll need two quarter-inch male spade type connectors and a short length of wire. Use spade connectors with the exposed male lug -there is no room for insulation around the connector.
