Who has replaced thier stock fog light with something better. I had one broken and the dealer wants $117. 00 for one.

I thought i would explore replacments if i can get something worth the money and not give any more money to DC.

Thats the exact same price I paid $117. 00. I bought a product called stoneguard (3m product)for my factory fogs. They are formed to fit right over your fog lights. I paid $19. 95 for both fogs. Heck of alot cheaper the $117 bucks. Heres the web-site www.stoneguard.com I ordered part #096033080. I have had the stoneguard on now for about a year now,no problems yet. The factory fogs are Hella lights. Good luck. coobie :D

One thing I found out the hard way - the part number coobie specifies is for a SET - you do not need to order 2. That is what I get for ordering over the internet late at night.

Try a junkyard

A friend of mine just got one from a junkyard for $65. 00. That might be an option for you, as they shouldn't be that old (the 3rd gens have only been out for a few years).

BTW, he found a good website - www.car-part.com It's a junkyard search tool - a great resource.

I installed a set of HELLA "500" series lights with replacement 100 watt bulbs. Bolted them to the outside bracket hole for the factory lights. This allowed the light to be at 90 degrees off axis wich casts the beam in a larger up and down pattern to suite my mostly winding hilly road night driving. All I can say is that my weak high beam problem is gone. BTW,a relay was installed to use the new light only with high beams. (bugs me to tears when I see peaple using fog light with low beams for vanity reasons only and also stessing out other on-coming traffic's eyes !!!!!!!!!)

HOCummins04,

How much do you want for the extra set?

I have $25 in it. How does $25 sound? Their lowest shipping is 8 something. Cheaper than you can get it from them for. I will mail it Postal Service. If EEdmondson does not want it, first one to PM gets it.

You can get a foglight install set (2 light, switch & harness) from the dealer for about $165 - so at least you get a little more value for your dollars.
