Find someone with a tripledog bullydog, it will turn them on for you, did mine myselfIs there a semi easy way to keep the fog lights on with the high beams or do we need to order the fogzilla black box from Geno's? Seems all the truly clever folks on here would have figured out a jumper or something that allows they to stay on with the high beams.
Thanks,
I’ve done it on the last three trucks, 07.5,14&18. I just use a relay, tap into one of the high beam light wires to feed the relay switch, get fused power from the battery to feed the relay and connect the output feed from the relay to the fog light wires behind the bumper. On the newer trucks you have to feed both fog lights as the are on separate circuits.
And NO, this does not create any issues at all with the OEM systems, I’ve got over 300K doing this with no issues at all.
I just plugged the bullydog controller in under dash and it asked me if i wanted fog lights with high beams, clicked yes , all there was to it, also turned on daylight running lights too on my 2007 Dodgehow did you do yours yourself?
i don't know, I'm still using the one i bought in 07, been running it on tow mode for last 11years... No problemsYou can apply the same method that I I don’t know what the Bully dog is worth(can you still buy them?)
just find someone who has one...they can use theirs to turn them on, I've turned several on for othersI just googled them, yes, for around $450 you can still get them
EXACTLY this which is why I suggested the above mod to the multifunction switch that lets you run lo beams, high beams and fog lights at the same time and posted links to it on my last post. Simply push the switch forward for ULTR light and pull it back fro oncoming traffic.Ive never understood why either, I mean if you go to high beams you want LIGHT! why turn off 2/3 of the light sources? Ii have upgraded the headlight bulbs but not to HID yet.
thanks!
On my 2014 I had a 20” led light bar in the bumper and also had it tied in with a relay to the high beams as well, but I had a toggle switch on that one so that I could control when it was able to come on automatically with the high beams. I only turned on that toggle switch if I was really out in the boonies or off-road this way if I was caught off guard with someone coming I just had to dim the lights and they’d go off as well rather than fumbling around to shut them down.Ive never understood why either, I mean if you go to high beams you want LIGHT! why turn off 2/3 of the light sources? Ii have upgraded the headlight bulbs but not to HID yet. I have a lightbar to add too but I need to build the mount for it as I want it bumper height vice above the windshield.
I can imagine that there is a bit of blindness when you go from all six to just the two low beams. I remember when I had a pair of 6x9 aux lights on my 01, going back to just the low beams for oncoming traffic was light turning off all the lights...
thanks!
