I have a buddy looking at trading in his 01 Gasser for a 02 Cummins the dealer is calling him this afternoon, what should he expect to pay for it? 4x4 SLT QC SB Loaded, but no leather?

Thanks

Darren

I paid $34,000 for the one in my sig..... it does have EVERYTHING, including leather. My guess would be 31-32,000, remember to subtract the $1500 rebate. Check www.edmunds.com, they were right on with the invoice price. Remember, Chrysler dealers get a 3% kick back from the manufacturer, therefore, even if they sell it at invoice, they're making 3% of MSRP.

Thanks guys for responding, he got a price of 31. 8k from the salesman and his Dad knows the owner of the Dealership, so he is going to see if he can do any better. The 31. 8 is for a 2002 4x4 QC SB Auto with the sport package... I'll keep ya updated if he gets a better price.

With the rebates and everything, you should expect to pay at least $1500 below invoice. If you friend has a business, let the dealer know and they will toss in an additional 300. 00 discount. Unless he is a member of Farm Bureau, that is an additional $500. 00 but cannot be used with the business deduction.

Squeez'em tight. Check online at some websites. Consumer Reports has a service that would give you list prices. I take into consideration a 10% mark up plus 3% dealer hold back. So there is about 13% to work with, plus rebates and incentives.

my $0. 02 worth

Is there a web site where you can see what the latest rebate and incentive offerings are?? I don't put much trust in dealers informing customers what the newest rebates/incentives are. I figure if the customer doesn't know the dealer might take advantage of it and keep the $$$ for themselves.

2002 cost

I drove mine away at $31,500. 00 with Farm Bureau rebate and 7 year 100K powertrain warranty. MSRP was $37,400. 00.

Good deals

Carson Dodge has some right now for 28,900. 00 to 32,000. 00 in stock. I paid 29,500. 00 for mine and my friend just paid 32,000. 00 total for his.
