western road trip

Finished my Wood ship model Sternwheeler

I've been on hiatus for the last two weeks for a number of reasons.

First and foremost, I am now a Dad. My boy was born on June 9th at 1602. He weighed in at 8 lbs. 1 oz. and 20 inches long. I figure that in a few years, he'll be taller than me:). Mom and son are doing fine. The first night was a little rough on both of us, but it's been pretty easy since then. Not too bad. Ten fingers, ten toes, and healthy. I must be doing something right in this life.

The Saturday before the event, I was at a Mopar only show and took high HP on the dyno. Filled the whole building full of soot. Wish some of you guys coulda seen it. I wasn't the fastest one, just the one with the most HP. The guy in second was fastest with an 11. 5 sec quarter mile. But he was still almost 70 HP behind me (and I had plenty more on tap, sans drugs). All in all it was a fun day.

I've also added some new injectors to my truck. I think these are going to be as hot as one can go and still be on the street. Actually, these things are very hard to drive with civility on the street. It can be done, and I will do it (until someone wants to test his mettle:D).

Another thing I've been doing has to do with diesel stuff. I've taken the plunge and have started doing work on diesels for pay. I've been bugged by enough people, that I decided to start my own "business" around here. I call it "Amusement Ride Diesel Performance". Thanks Ray. I hope you don't mind. It's a pretty small operation, and I am going for a more personal touch rather than quantity. So if you need something, don't hesitate to look me up.

I've also found out that I'm up to be promoted to Captain on our FD (if I don't get canned first). So I've got that iron in the fire too. (Eat your heart out Dave!:D)

I'm still working on the stuff for Goerand's. The Germans aren't helping matters any. The new dyno unit is late and I want to have it thoroughly tested and installed before we do anything. It won't do us any good to have it half installed for the event. I will keep you guys posted as much as possible. As much as I can as relevent information becomes available. So stay tuned.

As you can see, I've been pretty busy. Hopefully, I will be able to spend more time on the sites I normally visit. But we'll have to see what time my boy allows me to have. See you guys around.

Congratulations

Congratulations Aron on the the new family member. My nephew was over a few weeks ago with his twin boys. They are about 1. 5yrs. old now. We were in the garage and should have been paying a little more attention to them. . One of them discovered my 5" tailpipe and decided he had to put his arm all the way up it:eek:  . He looked too funny with his black arm:-laf :-laf . Just keep an eye on your new son when he starts walking. With all the smoke your truck puts out, he could get dirty real fast.

Screw The Truck

You deserve nothing but the best cheese man :)

Congrats on the newby and I hope he reaches 6' 5" tall:cool:

Good to hear every thing is going fine with the newborn and mother!! I can totally under stand if Goerends has to wait till things settle down for you. Your truck smokes more than before??? wow :) (note to self DON'T FOLLOW ARON ANYWHERE)

Glad to hear all the good news.

Too bad the only cheese around here is in Madison. They need it to go with all the whine they have.

Congrats on the newby and I hope he reaches 6' 5" tall:cool:

Me too. That way he'll be able to reach all the stuff I've been storing in the garage rafters.

Yup. Sometime this week. I have to go down and pick up my neighbor's truck from getting worked on. The transmission ran into a problem and Dave is fixing it. My neighbor needs his truck back badly. His gasser is eating up his paycheck in a hurry.

Congratulations. Becoming a father is a BIG change. (I'm not certain it's for the better:D )

Same Birthday as me. Pretty cool.
