How do these work? Obviously with the Dodge/Cummins most boxes tap right into the injection pump, hard wired, but Ford/PSDs use chips that are actually downloaded into the PCM, correct? Can someone help explain this more? Thanks.
You may want to go over to The Diesel Stop and ask there. . All the ford Q&A's would be better answered there, and probably twice as fast. . Best of luck to finding the right answer!
Fords have an actual chip that you remove and replace with an aftermarket. Or you can use a tuner like Hypertech Power Programer or SCMT and download the factory settings from the chip and upload a new program without removing the OEM chip.
I was there when a superchips programmer was used. I said that engine sounds bad. He says thats normal. So am I to assume it sounded bad before or after.
