Well after 28 hooks the stock 2001 Ford intercooler gave up. It has actually been giving up for a while but I finally figured out the intercooler was the problem. I knew something was up when the B1 was making 34 lbs boost at a local pull Friday. The boost had been dropping off for a while and I couldn't figure it out until i saw the inlet side of the intercooler seperated from the center section. Anyone thinking about this swap into a first gen should know that the "plastic" intercoolers from Ford don't last long at 50+ psi.
Any one have any better swaps? I'm also thinking about just going without an intercooler and using more water.
