I can leave my doors unlocked once again!

Happy Birthday My6eatsv8s

Just another reason to stay away from the stealerships for service. I got on to read this a while ago, but now can't. Seems too many people are on the site at once. The word is spreading fast!!! The internet is can be such a powerful tool.

Darwin Award nominee

Can I nominate this guy for a Darwin Award or does he have to die from stupidity first

I know techs drive our rides but to post/brag on the I-net... ... .

Repeat after me:

"I AM MY OWN WARRANTY STATION"

Absolutely unbelievably stupid. I called the dealership, and they said they were swamped with calls about it, and that the GM wasnt taking calls unless he knew you. The receptionist knew of the incident and was surprised that it has gotten as much publicity as it had. I suggest everyone call, and complain about the lack of action and compensation by the dealer.

This part was written by another SVT Member, not me. ::

"Well, I read this saga, and I almost cried. I know I would go nuts if that was my car. So I tried to come up with the best way to help.

Oh my, lookie what I found:

http://nsford.com

Phone number: 1-800-525-9810

General Manager: Jim Thompson

Let's see how this plays out... ... ...

Conversation:

Jim: This is Jim:

Me: Hello sir, are you the General Manager of Northside Ford in San Antonio, TX?

Jim: Yes.

Me: Are you aware of the incident today involving one of your technicians taking a customers car on a test drive of speeds of up to 140 MPH? And that when informed of this, your dealership had stated that they were not going to do anything about this out side of firing the technician.

Jim: No, I'm sorry, I'm not.

Me: Well, sir, the technician has bragged about it on a public message board, and the story has gotten around quite a bit today.

Jim: I'm sorry, you're catching me totally off guard with this... . What is the name of the person who's car it was?

Me: I don't have the name of the owner, but I can give you the plate number of the car.

<gives plate # as given on post from tech>

I'm sorry about catching you off guard here Jim. I just wanted to make sure you were aware that that this had happened, and that you were paying close attention to this. This story at this point has made it way across 15 -20 message boards, and has been read by over 100,000 people or more, quite a number of who make up your customer base in San Antonio.

Jim: ... .

Me: It seems that this is getting a lot of publicity, and I just wanted to make sure you were aware of what was going on. Probably not a good idea for the internet to hear about your techs beating up on the cars in for service, and you folks not really trying to make things right with the customer.

Jim: And who are you?

Me: I'm just an SVT fan, and a concerned musclecar owner.

Jim: Well, I'm glad you brought this to my attention.

Me: Not a problem Jim, you have a good day.

Hopefully, he will now think twice before telling you they won't do anything..... Best of luck to you!

Remember, it doesn't always matter what you drive.....

- Matt""

I didnt include my exact conversation.

NOT THAT WE DO IT HERE ALL THE TIME, BUT I JUST HAD TO RUN IT, IT WAS CALLING MY NAME... :p THE POWER IT HAS IN UNREAL, YOU JUST NEED TO GET OUT AND TEST DRIVE ONE TODAY, BY THE WAY, THE CUSTOMER'S COMPLAINT WAS LACK OF POWER AND POOR GAS MILEAGE, WHAT A CROCK... NEEDLESS TO SAY, IT IS OWNED BY A FEMALE, SHE EVEN SAID IT WAS DYNOED AT A SHOP AND THEY TOLD HER THAT THE CONVERTORS WERE TOO HOT AND THE FUEL TRIM WAS WAY OFF. I HOOKED IT UP TO THE COMPUTER, FUEL TRIM WAS NORMAL, CAT TEMP WAS OK, NO CODES, AND IT RAN GREAT. GO FIGURE. . :p OH YEAH, SHE EVEN TOLD THE SERVICE WRITER TO MAKE SURE THAT NO "PUNK" DRIVES HER CAR, WELL SINCE I AM THE MUSTANG SPECIALIST HERE AT THE DEALER, I GUESS I AM "THE PUNK", ALL THE MORE TO DRIVE HER '03 COBRA VERT AND SEE WHAT ITS GOT. . HEHE HOPE SHE DIDNT HAVE A HIDDEN CAMERA IN THAT CAR... ... GET THIS, HER PLATES SAY "XXX XX"

Dont let this guy, or dealership get away with this. Make the call. Let the dealership sweat it out.

LOL! I called. What fun! I talked to the receptionist who transferred me to someone in Sales who was clueless. I asked if it was North Side Ford and he said yes and transferred me to someone in the service dept who didn't want to talk about it. I basically asked if they had a formal comment on the incident, and she said 'Uhhhh, no. ' <click>.

They can't go around thinking that people don't care about their $30k Mustangs.

Wow that's pretty crazy... its amazing how far it has spread on the net, I think I've seen it on every board I look at for messages...

Remember don't post anything that you wouldn't mind ANYONE reading:D

I'll be interested to see what the dealer ends up doing now that it has such a large media coverage

The site crashed on me when I reached page 5 ! They are getting that many hits on it... . I'd sure hate to be that Ford dealership, talk about BAD publicity !

What a powerful information tool against dishonesty and bad business that the internet has become !

I wonder when it's going to happen in the Dodge/ Cummins world... ... .

North Star Ford,,, LOL

I'm reading the post,, I'm on page 5,, can't wait to see what the "Service Tech" has to say after all this,, Maybe,,,, "Welcome to McDonalds, Can I take your order?"

Merrick Cummings Jr

I saw a link to this incident posted just about everywhere I went... I tried to read it all, but like others have experienced, the site crapped out after the 7th page...

What I just can't get over, is how so many of those guys jumped in to defend the service tech!! 95% of all mustang owners would do the same?? And if you wouldn't, then you are less of an enthusiast??? I can't believe that... I, being an automotive enthusiast, would never do that because I have too much respect for the car.

I am still a little 'juiced' after reading that...
