Expand the dealer search nationwide for one that wants the volume. Maybe end of month end of year "pressure" to blow a "number" out the door may help.

Otherwise they need to get it fixed to wait the 5 months. 40 miles ... The dealer that works on the SOB is really far out for us as well, however, they still have a shuttle service that can take us home/pick us up. See if the shop has a discount pickup and delivery service, even CL for discount flatbed tow. Me I would drive it in and have a rental, and that's the hard part, rentals are not always available now.

So now we seem to be back to wait and see if it gives problems... I was considering to get the Premium Care from Ford on it as it claims it covers "wiring harness" but not sure if that would cover this? Thoughts? They really want to keep it so I can get an extended FSP on it for another 5yrs and up to 60k miles would be more than enough as it only at 32k now. Then they could take it in to a dealer next time and not have to pay so much out of pocket? She said its been doing this since the recall on the transmission? But memory is not so good anymore. FSP is about $1k way cheaper than a new van, but says it needs to be inspected, should be n problem I assume a local Ford Dealer can do it?

Okay gang, is there anyone near @bcbender folks that can give a helping hand? I know it's not a RAM Truck but it's a safety issue on our elders vehicle! I was I was closer as not scared to try and chase down wiring issue. How close to border with WA? Son works for Boeing and was at Everett location for 2 yrs and might have a connection but not sure how far away. Pulling for @bcbender and your grandparents!

Thanks Topzide... As always I love the TDR community!!

FWIW, she said it hasn't stalled in the past week or two, but they don't drive much anymore.

They are 4 or more hours away on the coast near Waldport OR... I am thinking about just taking a trip out after Christmas to take a long dive into it. They don't drive much at all anymore so its not super urgent. I just need to figure out what makes best sense at this point and come up with a plan... My parents live near Riffe Lake Wa and my brother is in Chehalis so they are not alone, just a long trip for my parents to deal with, (and none of them are car people) so that makes them not very helpful for this issue. I think fixing their Van is best and I will try to get them an extended FSP on it so they have piece of mind.. I know she said that it started acting up not long after the Transmission Recall, so I was going to start with checking / cleaning engine and body grounds first, Look for something maybe a tech left off or loose?

@bcbender , You're quite welcome! Make sure to check for codes. Depending on were the ECM, PCM or BCM are located, could be corrosion at the connector being they're on the coast! I have that problem being sandwiched between the river and bay! Salt air has driven me nutty sometimes trying to fix an electrical issue. Best of luck with fix and sounds like a trip would be worth piece of mind!
