No, there is nothing like TDR. Many have tried, none have ever succeeded. :)

Ford is coming out with their own TDR site. It will be

:-laf good one

Hmm, 280,000 Fords with Powerstrokes in 2004 versus 140,000 Cummins HD Rams,

Who is 2x the sales of the others. And which truck can get a service body installed without concerns of cracking the frame.

Hmm, Rocket scientist's need not apply for the answer.

BTW - What is the square root of -1. ?

I think many of the furd (F250 mainly) sales are from "yuppies" that want a four door 4X4 diesel powered family car..... :rolleyes:

Besides I know a few Ford people that would take a new Dodge in a second if they weren't under the current note of their found on roa... . I mean ford.

I also know a Ford guy that will never give up on his fords..... He denies ever having any problems out of his trucks since the 99 model :rolleyes:

He has had a 99 (must have been good cause he kept it for three years :-laf ) a 2002 kept it two years, a 2004 6. oh no kept it four months (claims he didn't like the cloth interior :rolleyes: ) and now a 2004 6. oh no, wonder how long it hangs around... ...

He sees the other side, he has ridden in the other side, he has towed with the other side, but he refuses to buy it..... :rolleyes: some people and their loyalty.....

No, it doesn't take rocket science to see that Furd and Chevy are continually loosing sales on there trucks and SUV's, just read the business section of the newspaper. The Quarterly Reports state that Furd and Chevy are loosing sales and Dodge is gaining sales on Trucks and cars. Another thing I read on our TDR magazine, issue 47 I think, is that Cummins account for 40, 42% of diesels on light trucks, while Powerjokes account for another 40% +/- and Chevy accounts for some 11% of diesels on light duty trucks. The remainder they said was others. So go figure. Grizzly :rolleyes:

I agree with DC taking the sales of Ford and GM. I see more and more Dodge trucks and less and less Ford and GM trucks.

In the past I have CONSIDERED buying a Ford instead of a Dodge (mainly because of the larger cab, and sketchy auto trans record of the Dodge), but now with all of the progress of Dodge and DC I can say with 100% confidence that my next truck will continue to be a Dodge product. :cool:

Besides I have proven to myself that the 2nd gen trucks (body and frame) are not nearly as bad as some people put them out to be.

My truck has been to hell and back! It has seen air, massive axle dragging holes, mud up to the axle hubs, massive ditches (one finaly got my track bar and the drag link :( ). I love my truck... . :)

Hmm, wasn't the Furd Taurus was one of the best selling cars and the where is the Escort?

I'll keep that in mind next time I need to order 280,000 trucks with a service body. :-laf

What is the square root of -1?

No real number when multiplied by itself gives -1! However, square root of -1 occurs in many engineering and electrical problems. Mathematicians have invented the answer. Without the square root of -1, a lot of mathematics wouldn't make sense.

The number that has been invented to be the square root of -1 is called i (for imaginary). In fact it is no more imaginary than any other number but the name has stuck. So let us have a look at some of the properties of this strange number.

i = square root of -1 by definition

i2 = i × i = -1

i3 = i × i × i = i × (-1) = -i

i4 = i2 × i2 = -1× -1 = 1

i5 = i × i4 = i × 1 = i

It is possible to have a combination of real and imaginary numbers. Here are some examples.

2 + i

-3 + 2i

1 - 5i

The above explanation found at: http://www.krysstal.com/numbers.html

I used to acutally know and understand this. (BS Math)

I agree the Cummins is the best pickup diesel engine - however, don't neglect the fact that a pickup is the sum of it's parts, not an engine alone.

Dodge 3rd gen isn't built {IMHO} as tough / solid as the 2nd Gens. I have had both.

True, not everyone needs a service body, but I haul heavy with mine [not a yuppie 4 door car] which includes a G/N loaded with cattle over rough terrain.

I hope for the 3rd Gen Dodge owners the torsional stresses over time don't yield the same frame cracks as some service body installs have. [Check out other posts for more details on frame issues]

I had a 3rd GEn, bought back due to vibe.

I am looking for a used 2nd Gen for my son, my Dad owns a second Gen as well. So I've no axe to grind against Dodge per say, but from my view - overall the 05 Ford 6. 0 is a better package [especially when you use the torqshift] then the 3rd gen dodge.

These are truck's - and will fail.

If Ford could get the Cummins in their pickups, would you still buy the Dodge???

I've NEVER been a Ford fan. I would like a NEW Shelby version Mustang! But I'd buy a Duramax over a Ford truck in a heatbeat. LOL. The history of the 6. 0(and its fixing to be changed)and the repair numbers on the Torqueshift as well as they are TOO BIG for my taste would keep me from looking at them. I don't like many things SUPERSIZED.

Do the 2nd gen trucks have hydroformed frames? I thought the 3rd gen frames were a lot stronger than those in the past. I don't like the easily dentable and bendable sheet metal bodies, however. But I was talking to a fire/rescue guy I know and he said all vehicles are that way by design now. They are designed with crumple zones to protect you, and the result is that they dent easily and the dents don't just pop out the way they used to.

I would. I like the look of Ford trucks, and spent a year trying to buy one, but the Ford dealers were *****holes when it came to negotiating price and service. Most wouldn't even match the Edmunds.com price. I got the feeling they really didn't want my money. Once the 7. 3's were gone from their lots I abandoned Ford for Dodge and haven't regretted it for a minute. The Ford dealers cringed whenever I asked how the PSD compared to the Cummins. I looked at GM trucks for one day. One salesman told me that the Duramax was "the best diesel engine on the planet. " That was all I needed to hear, and walked off.
