Boy it sure is fun coming home to stuff like this after close to 48 hrs of wrenching on my truck

! First of all 956Wheel as I had told you in a message that I sent you late monday night (about 50 hours ago) I had nothing to do with the removal of your post (contrary to your statement above) and that I would look into why it was deleted, etc and get back to you as soon as I could. I asked you to have a little patience because of the unavailability of many of the people responsible for the website because of the server move - thanks for the patience.
Onto the "uneven" moderating issues. There are 9 moderators on the site, a webmaster, and the owners of the site. Many times something is borderline on whether it's within the guidelines or not - one moderator may see it as over the line, another on the line, and another just behind the line. There are approximately 700 posts put on the site every single day. Sometimes things don't get seen by a moderator at all - we're NOT perfect. It's impossible for us to watch and read EVERY single post put on the site. Also, the moderators (with the exception of myself and of course the webmaster and owners) basically cover their own forums. Maybe one of you guys can tell us how we can clone one person's brain and put it into the other 10 of us? Sorry, we're human - we don't all think EXACTLY alike.
One of the owners of the site recently called me to ask that we remove the Other forum completely from the site as was mentioned above. I said I didn't think that was necessary and that it would be unforetunate if we did so. I think that the other forum helps form a bond between the members and make it feel like a larger family. What we did decide to do was make the other forum a members only forum that day - and we've been so busy with trying to get the new servers up and running (you wouldn't believe all the issues we've had to deal with on THAT one) that we didn't even have time to let the moderators know that change had been made. So don't yell at Dennis about that - he didn't know, yell at me or the owners.
Right from the front page of the website "The purpose of the Turbo Diesel Register Website is to parallel that of the TDR Magazine: to provide an open forum for the positive exchange of information. And as previously noted, our goal is to give Turbo Diesel owners more satisfaction in the ownership of their truck. " From the guidelines it states "The TDR Website Discussion Forum is designed to help owners solicit input from others on the proper maintenance and operation of their truck. " You all agreed to abide by those guidelines when you signed up for the site. Dennis has just been thrown into this position and he was specifically chosen by the owners of the site because he was conservative. There are many jokes posted in the other forum (for one thing) that offend many members - we get the complaints all the time. On the old tired "if you don't like it don't read it" deal - remember, they paid too. The point of this website is to improve the satisfaction of owning your truck. I feel that the other forum does build comradery, however we do not need to tell dirty jokes in here to do that. The guidelines also state to "keep it clean". If you wish to tell and read dirty jokes there are a MILLION places on the internet that you can do that, it doesn't need to be done here as well - it's not the point of the site in any way shape or form. Why did you subscribe to the TDR magazine and sign up for access to the TDR site?
Remember, if you become unsatisfied with your subscription to the TDR you can request a refund at any time by emailing
rpatton@ix.netcom.com and they will promptly send it out - I know of noone that has requested a refund and not gotten it.
