I guess because I posted in the so-called "racist" thread, that makes me a racist, too. Hmmm...



Actually, the topic being discussed was illegal aliens operating motor vehicles on public roadways without legally-required insurance coverage. That was what I discussed in my responding post. Members of my family have themselves been involved in a traffic accident where the other party fit this description. If that topic is considered "racist", there's something wrong around here...

On 956wheels post "I'm a bigot... so beit" which is being referred to here as the "racist" post. One of the people tasked with moderating the site pulled it and put up a message that it was removed due to racist content. When I read the post I contacted 956Wheel and told him I was going to discuss it with the owners and that I would get back to him as soon as possible but that it may take some time because of the server move that is in the process. On top of that I was out of touch working on my truck without PC access. We removed the reference to why it was removed at that time. While I was out of town I spoke with Robin (one of the owners) and after discussing it and her reading through it the concern was where the thread was turning. While we agreed that it was not a racist post that it did need to be removed because it was taking a downward spiral and the replies had missed the original point of the thread which was how to deal with the insurance situation. Where it was headed there wasn't any way that it was going to get back on track. He was originally looking for help on an insurance situation with a basically indigent person. When I got back into town last night and had PC access again I contacted 956wheel to let him know that he was welcome to repost his question and situation - what we did ask was that he leave out the "Ingles" type comments which would promote a downturn in the thread such as what happened with the last one. The problem he had really had nothing to do with the individual involved being an illegal alien, he could have easily had the exact same problem with a caucasian.



Try to keep in mind that the TDR is a business and that the owners of the site have made decisions on what content should and shouldn't be allowed on the site for business reasons. There is very little "censorship" that takes place on the site and what little is done is done for very good reasons. That's not to say that occasional mistakes won't be made. As I stated above if you feel that the rules of the site or the operation of it is overbearing then you have the right to request a subscription refund and vote with your wallet (true capitalism). Thanks for your understanding.

Thanks for removing the pics Mark. I had a feeling it was an accident. Some folks here that have fast net connections don't realize how much pictures and fancy signatures can bog down a slow connection. Even if I skip the pics the page below bounces around as the picture loads making it impossible to read. Extra wide pics are also a PITA when you have to scroll back and forth to read every thread on the page.

I had lots of windows open and hit reply on the wrong one...

There is an option in user preferences to show pis as links. . helps a lot on dialup.

I dont know if it's been suggested, but how about a forum thats unmoderated.

After all were not supposed to be giving out our passwords, and I'm sure everyone that's a member is over 18.

This is a better alternative than dumping the other forum.
