J.D. Power Surveys: Shout It from the Rooftops and Hire Me as the PR Guy

Seriously, in the first analysis of the J.D. Power survey I noted the corporate-speak from Ram’s CEO, Chris Feuell. Here it is, again: “‘This recognition is particularly uplifting because our customers are extremely demanding. Satisfying them to the point where we rise above every other brand in the industry is a testament to the boundless creativity of our designers and engineers, and the unwavering dedication of our assemblers and dealers.’”

Now that we have five years of data in front of us, well, perhaps the entire TDR audience should be hired to take the data, divide by 5 and declare an obvious winner: Ram! (Ram has an average score of 149.2, a clear winner.)

Shazam! How about this for the PR copy? “For the past five years, Ram (with an average number of 149.2) ranks as Number 1 in the J.D. Power Initial Quality Survey. Note that for years 2021, 2023, and 2024 Ram was at the top of the leader board.

“Let that sink in, in the past five years Ram has averaged to be the best.”

Now, perhaps the editor-dude should do the infamous “figures don’t lie, but liars figure” and go back to 2019, 2018, 2017, etc. and average those years into the mix? Then we could declare Ram as the best average for x-number of years…

Nope, five years is enough to prove the point. And, the corporate PR guys missed a golden opportunity.

So, audience, go shout it from the rooftops.
