Just wanted to give members a heads up on a transmission shop in Phoenix Arizona. I was talking to my Dad today who lives in Washington. He is in his 60's, retired and a diehard CTD Owner, and takes great pride in his truck. But because of his limited income he tries to find a good deal when it comes to repairs. Anyway aparently he found a trans shop online in Phoenix to rebuild his auto trans in his 01 ctd. Now that it is installed he is having issues with the way it operates. Can't seem to get a good answer or help from anybody at the business. But the thing that burns me more than anything is the $850 core charge which they have so far refused to give back, and just give him the run around as to why they havn't sent it. Anyway this is the name of the business. Which I have learned have several DBA's

Frank Charles Kuperman, Owner of:

Silverado Industries, LLC

DBA: Phoenix Remanufactured Transmissions, LLC

DBA: Phoenix Remanufactured Transmissions Peoria, LLC

DBA: Phoenix Remanufactured Transmissions Gilbert, LLC

DBA: Phoenix Hard Parts Remanufactured Transmissions

DBA: Arizona Transmission Factory, LLC

Well he is a proud man and is reluctant to ask for help when it comes to these things. I just found out about it when my mom let it slip. I just wish he had talked to me first I think I could have prevented it. Afterwards I did a search and found that there have been several of the same type of complaints.

So anyway this is just a warning to anybody out there who may be in the market for a transmission rebuild to stay far away from these guys.

PS: If there is anybody in that area who wants to go over there an break out a can of Whoopa** on the owner. I'll buy you a six Pack!!!

I'll double that shot!! broke three of their best "stage 3" trannies, STILL (6 mos! ) getting the run around on cores and warranty work!!! Steer clear guys!!!

Maybe I had the luck of the draw but I bought a transmission from this company 3 yrs ago and to this day it has never lost a beat or lost any fluid ?In my eyes

Phoenix Remanufactured Transmissions is a good company got good service from them and never had to worry maybe they have changed owner's I dono but dont bag on em . give em a chance to work it out I am sure they will come through . and yes this is my Opinion :)

Ok well how much of a chance should we give. It's been months. Call and ask about the core charge. Get excuses like "owner is on vacation", "we will have to look into it and call you back" Its been 8 months still no refund on the core and, never call back, and the Trans just doesn't work right. Call them to try to get it fixed. They just say they will have to talk to the service dept and they will call back. Not even Once have they called back. But when they wanted to sell a tans they were calling all the time.

Just do a Yahoo or Google search and see the numerous complaints. Funny thing is the complaints seem to all be pretty much the same. Lousy service, substandard parts.

Well I didnt mean to blast you and if it came off that way I am sorry sounds to me like they have changed owners and the new one stinks I had my core charge back within 3 weeks that is wierd well I wish I was closer ide try n help all you can do at this point is keep trying ?I guess I was one of the lucky one's my trans even went through a truck roll over / rebuild and is still alive .

I would just like to think he was just one of the unlucky ones. But after doing some research I happen to find out about all the complaints. Now with any business which does alot of volume work there is bound to be some rejects, thats just how it goes. There may verywell be an overwhelming amount of satisfied customers vs the unsatisfied. It just doesn't appear that way. What I do know for sure is the transmission is not what it was claimed to be, they received the core in a timely manner, 8 months after they received the core he still doesn't have his core charge back, and whenever he or myself call to get answers all we get is the runaround with empty promisses they will call back.

Hey Simply and any other readers. I did some more research here. Symply we may be talking about two different transmission companies. There is a transmission company called Phoenix transmission. Which aparently isn't the same as on of the previous ones listed. In fact if you go to Phoenix Trans web site in the first paragraph they speak about which I beleive is this other company for which they aparently catch alot of blame for. So the place you are thinking of may not be the same as the one I am talking about.

I just don't want a good shop to take the rap for a bad one!!

We did start a complaint with the BBB but I am not quite sure how far that will go. Does anybody in, or from arizona know if they have an automotive repair enforcement branch such at the Bureau of automotive repair, like we have in Calif?

Here is a web site to which there is more info on the company and the owner. Rip Off Report: Phoenix Hard Parts Re-Manufactured Transmissions, Phoenix Remanufactured Transmissions, Ripoff, Won't refund money owner knows he's a ripoff artist Phoenix Arizona

Which I find interesting is there is a BBB report at the bottom. Also a statment from somone who claims to be an ex-employee. Who also said the owner sits on the BBB in Phoenix. How much of this is true who really knows for sure. But I do find it interesting that the ex-employee had to apparently print what appears to be a "legal" retraction.

good link! we're reporting them to E-BAY as we also found them there. and yes, there is anouther company with a similar name in Texas. (if I were him I'd change my name!) I'll post the full write up with supporting documentation soon.

Get some of your friends and family together and picket them. Put ads in the local newspapers. Tell the local radio stations on their talk shows. Take them to Small Claim Court. A complaint with the BBB is a great idea. I have used them very effectively. Don't give up, give em hell!

nOT SURE HOW TO SAY I WAS LUCKY AND GOT THE RIGHT COMPANY WHEN i ORDERED MY transmission OR WHAT but it deffently sounds like this place is screwy and needs to be shut down
