I work for a company that cleans up after train derailments and I have managed to get my grubby mitts on a horn from a train.

You will have to have it repaired, there are two holes for mounting it and one has broken off. I am sure it can be repaired though. It is an air horn, and you will have to make another bracket to attach air source, but again not an impossibe feat.

If you are interested contact me and I can get you a picture of it I think! All it will cost you is shipping.

I am way to much of a pack-rat and when I saw this I immediately thought someone on the TDR would love to have the loudest horn out there.

One more thing, as far as I know one of these bad boys will need in the area of 200 psi. Who wants it????????

I think you should auction it off, I always wanted one for my Father for a Christmas Present. He is a big train buff.

It'll only take 100 pounds to operate, but a high volume, about 20 cfm through a minimum 1/2 inlet. Good Luck

Hey Boys.
This is Swamp Donkey's wife. Guess that makes me Mrs. Wet Jackass. Ghastly.
ANYWAY, my ever lovin' husband is having kittens because he is stuck in camp (Somewhere in Northern Alberta) cleaning up yet another train-derailment. And that means he can't access his e-mail or his Mopar Chat forums. Poor thing is going into withdrawls. Just know that he's not ignoring your requests for train horns. Hubby is making money so we can put more toys in/on his truck.
Take care; the Swamp Donkey will get back to you sometime next week.
PS: you might want to send a prayer or two his way while he's in camp. Guess who gets to drive his baby while he's out in the bushes?
Mrs. Swamp Donkey has been 4x4ing & driving like she's in NASCAR. Don't let him wife-proof this truck. it's too much fun.
hee hee.

Good for you Mrs. Swamp Donkey! I'm sure your husband won't mind knowing that you're taking care of his baby while you're having fun with her. Have a ball!!!

Sounds to me like Mrs. WJA is a real team player! Mine won't drive the dually... size matters?

uhhh... don't know if i am out of line here... . but if mrs. wja came up with your truck and you've been in camp for a while... . shouldn't you have satisfied two of your withdrawls?

just wondering if being in the bush has your priorities all twisted!

have fun #ad

I know what he's talking about, My wife has been in GA for 4 weeks with her sick Mom and I am stuck in Beautiful Dallas riding around in these stinking hotel shuttles powered by Power Pukes! (at least I can smell the diesel).

Then today I heard a fedex truck pull up today and got a fix of Cummins sound, man I can't wait to get home. My truck AND WIFE will be home Saturday!

Fellow TDR's

It is me again, I am still working away and managed to finally make to a public library to access my e-mail and see what is up. I still have not forgotten about the horn, just I am 500 miles from home! I will reply to all of the e-mails when I have time. I should be home this weekend.

Ms Wet Jackass came up last weekend for a visit in my truck so at least one of my withdrawls was satisfied!

I've been driving Chev 3/4 ton's 4x4's with the mighty vortec 350. Talk about going through withdrawls... ... .

Hmmmmm, What are the chances of Swamp D. bringing another train horn home ??

What kinda horn you want ??? There are several different ones... . some are wayyyy to big for our trucks, not to mention the amount of air to run them. Train horns might be "cool" but nuthing like the sound of a steam engine tooting its horn #ad

Guess I should ask my friends at the Denver shops if they can get any cheap.....

I have been looking for one for my dually. As to the what kind the loudest one there is that sounds like a train and les than three feet long. I just want to be able to break the windows in those cars at stop lights that do that boom boom noise / or at least make them jump. got a 100 gallon air tank and 300 psi available. havn't found one reasonable yet.
