Another Jeep Grand Cherokee!

Cub Cadet 7275 tractor frame issue

This is in our central shop in Queens. The truck is a very special R model Mack dump that was the first in a series of an emergency buy that was used at ground zero during 9/11. Its undergoing a restoration and will be an museum exhibit. A special funded "spare job" thst was just brought back in after the summer heavy work.

Wayne are you guys handling the resto in house? Any paint scheme plans, or taking back to OEM finish?

There would be nothing left after 18 years in the enviro 100% duty, municipal salt trucks see. Besides, emission mandates kinda eliminate a lot of the old iron.

Slight error on my part. I didn't notice the typo. I intended to write 8-12 years as you stated for service life. There are plenty of tri axle log trucks and dumps around here over 12 years old. Very few double frames because of what we discussed.

Yes, the picture I posted is at our central shop in Queens. It's supposed to look as it went into action, so not factory, but department ready.
On 9/11 and a week or so after, until the outside contractors could set up, the DSNY and DOT were starting to haul, and this particular series of truck were an emergency buy, off the lot so to speak, and not NYC spec. They didn't have plows, different PTO's different body, etc etc. they can be identified by "26AT" code prefix.
We have a paint shop, but I'll be amused if it's capable of anything near a presentable finish!

This is one in that series, but plows were fitted later on. Many are still in service today. Supposedly the subject was the first one we got.

After my Top Gun shopped the Hell out of a replacement unit we had to spend just under $14,000.00 for what you see...

Pump
25' Hose Extension
Power Head and hoses
#12 Head (1/2")
#16 Head (5/8")
#20 Head (3/4")

People sometimes don't realize what many of these specialty tools cost........

That’s more than I thought, but unique commercial quality tools are not cheap.
I’ve finally devoted some time in reading a series of books about engineering, building, and fitting out race cars written by Carroll Smith, who was a engineer/ mechanic in the spirit of Smokey Yunick and Carroll Shelby. In his hardware book, he devotes more than a page on these “Huck” fasteners in the rivet section.
They’re favored because it’s a quick, strong and quality consistent fastener.
