I think that I put an aligning punch in it at an angle, then tapped the end of the punch using the side of the cavity as a rocker and kept working my way around the perimeter until the bearing came up flush with the top of the cavity. Then got a very small crows foot punch in there and tapped up on it.
It doesn't come out that hard, it's just getting ahold of the little critter.
Look at the second picture of post #17, see the race laying to the right of the end yoke. I pried the center ball out first so that I could deal with it as described above.
