After 300K of ranch work and overloading my springs are bent. What do I replace them with? I want to stay away from high lift type springs because my gooseneck trailers will hit the bed. I don't care about the ride.
I got a full set from the local spring shop. New shackles, bolts, springs, and bushings set me back about $750. Re-arching was not an option. The spring leafs had worn about 1/6th of the spring away so they were getting weaker.
I'm in Arizona. I priced springs in Tucson today and stock replacements were higher than after market. Skyjackers were $1200 for everything including longer shocks. Re-arch w/new leaf was $250 a corner. The problem with re-arch is that you still have a tired spring. They will be flat again in a year. I'm still looking around. Thanks for the help! I heard that skyjackers won't hold the load. Anyone have experience with that?
I wouldn't recommend skyjackers for a ranch farm truck as they don't have the load capacity as stock. A true rearch will hold its form a heck of alot more than a year. $250 a corner = huge ripoff.
