Front Axel Universal

I have a front axel universal going bad, anyone had problems with the front axels. I did a search and came up empty.

If you have replaced yours are they available with grease fittings?



At 49,000 miles all universals including front axels were replaced under warranty by DC with OEM units, now have 90,000 miles and have already replaced all of the driveshaft universals again with greasable units at approximately 84,000 miles



I guess I should have done them all at 84,000

Are we talking the steering universal or the drive shaft universal? If it is the steering universal I believe the only place to get the is at the dealership, the AAM don't use a standard size. When I did my hub conversion I went to see if they had them in stock incase I damaged them, they did and wanted $120 a piece for them

This is the front axel steering universal, between the axel & the front wheel. Rotation is the same direction as the wheel.

I have already replaced all Front & Rear driveshaft universals the for the second time.

Replaced my right front last fall and bought two. Now I am waiting for the left front to go. Precision universal joint part # 464 with grease fittings. I got two for about $46 dollars from the local parts store, but they had to order them in.

Just picked up 2 of them for $50 each. Dealer said that mine did not have enough grease from the factory and are not warrantied any more. Also doing my balljoints while im in there.
