Trailer Connector Wiring Problem/Question

I was going to install a Mag-Hytech front diff cover on my 08 2500 4x4, but Mag-Hytech said that the cover would not fit due to the clearance/recall for the steering.

Has anyone had an issue with this or has installed the Mag-Hytech cover?

Recall notice did not affect my truck.

I have one on my 08 (built Sept 07). The recall did not effect my truck, for it was outside the recall dates of the vehicles built with this issue.

There is some interference with the cover and track bar. I ground down the AL web reinforcement on the upper part of the cover. I removed from 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch. This was done by trial and error, by fastening cover on and then checking for clearance between cover and track bar.

Another option is too add a 2" lift to the truck this should provide enough clearance for track bar and cover.

I have the front maghytec and '08. 5+ steering and 3" coils. Yes, initially there's some interference. However, since the cover is aluminum, just driving around it will "clearance" itself. It will make some marks in the aluminum fins, but won't get into the actual cover such that it will cause a leak.

I have a 1" level on mine with the non-TSB steering and it's close to contacting, less than 1/8" under static conditions in my driveway. I will probably take the grinder to it so the gap is a little larger.
